The traction control on my 1993 Q45 is not functioning. Both the SLIP and TRACTION warning lights comes on a few seconds after starting the engine. There is also a pumping sound from the engine compartment that stops as soon as the warning lights comes on.

I have been told by the Nissan mechanic who looks after my car that the "Traction Control Actuator -Spare part No. 47600-61U00" is faulty and should be replaced.

However, living in Sydney Australia with only a handful of Q45 being sold I have difficulty locating the part.

Is it possible to repair the part or does anyone know where I can purchase a new or reconditioned part. Also the cost would be appreciated.

One of our sponsors should have it.... Guys, what would it cost to buy the part and ship it to Mr. Jorg?

Alternatively, Chally lives in Sydney, he may have an idea (big Q45 guy)....

Yeeouch!!! That part cost about USD $750 new from Joe. They originally told me about $350 and then realized we had confusion on what part I needed. I was very very ucky to get the part off a parted out car here on NICO and it works great although my TCS lights still come on because I also have a faulty rear wheel ABS/TCS speed sensor. I replaced the part myself and it definitely was the most time consuming and difficult do-it-yourself thing I have ever done on the Q. I could do it today in about 1 hour vs. 10 hours before now that I know how everything works.

Seriously...try to find one used off a parted out car maybe in Japan or here in the US and have it shipped out to you in AUS$. Good luck in finding the part first and secondly at a reasonable price.

See this thread as I just replaced mine and be sure to use the correct tools as it makes the job much easier.
