Anyone change out or inspect the TCS fluid?

Yes, I have had the tcs fluid flushed/ changed. Prior to this, someone apparently put some power steering fluid in the tcs res. tank instead of brake fluid! Perhaps this was enough to damage the system but I'm hoping that with another flush it will solve the problem.
What is interesting is after the lights first started coming on, a few months later, they stayed off for about 300 km, then came on again and have stayed like that ever since. They come on after the engine has run for about 2 minutes.

Anything other than Dot 3 brake fluid in the reservoir means you need a new TCS system, the Hydralic part of it.

The system only working for two minutes means you need a new TCS actuator. I know from experince. Its not hard to replace or find in a junk yard.

I was afraid of that because I've been having a hard time finding a used tcs actuator. Can you(or anyone else) help me out on this? Is there a specific place where I might find one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where are you located?

Have you confirmed its the TCS actuator for yourself?

Car-part.com, Ebay.com, Craigslist.org

No, I have not yet confirmed that it is the tcs actuator. I just know that I count 18 flashes on my tcu which means abnormal oil pressure in the tcs actuator...

I guess I should actually confirm that is is truly the tcs actuator and not something else. I have a copy of the FSM (brake section) for my 1994.

I am located in Canada, in the province of Britich Columbia, on Vancouver Island.

Thanks for your insight, I will keep researching and hopefully I can find a solution to this. Keep me posted on anything that you might find helpful...much appreciated!

I know Canada does'nt have many Q's up their. And the junk yards that have them think they are made of Gold.

How about if I find one and test it according to the serivce manual (if I can with the car not driving) I sell it to you for $5 plus the price the junk yard wants and shipping? But installing it is not too bad. I thought it was till I saw that there are four bolts securing it to the wheel well. I am still kicking myself for not knowing that when I was parting out a 1991 Q45 (Still am).

But do the test and see what happens and I will keep looking on my end. I am sure though you could get it cheaper than me because some members live close to a Pick And Pull junk yard....

That would be great! I appreciate this and your offer sounds fair to me.

I think you're right, I haven't seen a lot of Q's up here. I found one a couple of weeks ago and the owner and I couldn't stop talking about our cars! His was a 1991 q45.

I will continue to work on things on my end and keep me informed on how things are going in your search.

Thanks again!
