may she rest in peace...just goes to show you how extremely stupid street racing is. I will definitely never do it again.

I feel for you, I recently lost mine too. I hope you are doing ok, that is what is most important. But I know that doesn't help the feeling of losing the car. Keep us informed on what you decide to do next.

well I'll be "moving" to Chicago for the next 2 months or so, working full-time. Hopefully will be able to save up enough money to get another one, and this time, be much much more careful...but nothing will replace the first...she was damn near perfect. I actually was about to win a race against an N/A Supra, 1988 with about 200k miles, but hey, they I coulda said "My 240 waxxed a supra the other day!" Oh well, I'll get another one...eventually...

Definitely save it for the track, and I made sure when I felt i was going to lose control, to do it away from other cars...but still, shouldnt have been doing it in the first place...street racing really is stupid.

Personally I dont see anything wrong with going out with some friends and having some fun for a night. If I get in a wreck thats something I gotta deal with. Im not gonna be stupid enought to do it where other people are to where I could harm them if something happened.

i have a quick question, what exatcly does "totaled" mean. Does it mean that the car is gone and can never be fixed, or does it mean that the repair costs are more than the car is worth? like if you crash a $500 car and the repair cost is $600.

sorry to hear about your car man.

Well, it happened when I was racing the other car, and I got in the outside lane to pass, and as soon as my front bumper was about at his sideview mirror, the back end started losing traction..most likely because it was a little wet still from rain. To avoid ramming into him and causing a huge, huge accident, i slammed on the breaks and pulled the car off the road. This doesn't sound so bad, unless you think about what it'd be like goin 110-120mph..the only thing totaled about the car is the entire back end, the front of the car wasn't even harmed (except maybe some scratches and small dents. The back right side was completely caved in at the gas tank, gas was leaking out, the whole rear bumper was hanging by a thread. The hatch glass was gone, and the hatch was open and sorta looked like someone twisted it up. and the back left tire was almost parallel with the car frame =\ I'm probably gona find a place to keep the car, and just work on it a lot...let it remind me of how stupid I was that day, and how never to do something like that again. My friend already said he'd help me out with it, and I'm sure in maybe a year or so that I could have it back out on the road, seeing I get my license back =\ And no, no one knows that I was racing...except for the lady in the black accord v6 that was behind us, who stopped to call the highway patrol.

Thats sucks, but

1)Never race in the rain with your 240, these car are not made for wet surface. When it rains i never do more then 50 and NEVER race anyone in the rain.

2) Never slam on your brakes, you just lock your brakes and thats it.

3) First mod Big brake upgrage

:)

Good luck with your car.

Pretty much what Nissan-s14 said just with more umf.

Yes, yes it does.

I've just now found a replacement s13, and I don't even know if its gonna be in good enough shape to bother working on.

(Mind you it was a freak accident, I still don't see how it happened)

if you lost control of the back end while goint that fast, either you lost control, you hit a really big puddle or the other person clipped you.

Just play with the clutch in the rain (or when its wet), then you wont loose traction.

roads are worst when it drizzles. all the road grime dissolves and collects on the asphalt forming a film instead of being rinsed off.
