Tore the stupid boot on the rear brakes that covers the piston. I don't mind changing it but does it require rebleeding the system again? I hate bleeding the stupid brakes cause it takes two people. I wish I had rubber arms like Dhalsim from Street Fighter 2.

No, not at all. It's not required. Just remove 'O' clip, take out rubber boot and install it. How many you need? I have a couple of used ones in good condition laying around. Why don't you get speedbleeders from SPL or PDM? It's only $12 for a pair.

Thanks, I didn't know if I had to pull out the piston to replace it the stupid boot. I haven't tried the speed bleeders but doesn't that still require two people to bleed anyway? I got the boot for $7 at advance auto - thanks for the offer, though.

No, all you need is just removing 'O' clip to take it out and reinstall. Glad to hear that you took care of it. I was going to mail you a couple of them for free BTW, but there's no point waiting several days to arrive I guess.

You see, there's a spring and bearing inside, so fluid will come out but air won't get in when you press the pedal. That's the convenience of these speedbleeders. You just make sure not to drain the fluid completely in master cylinder.

If you haven't, check my recent write up. It'll give you some pretty good idea.

I'd think it should be okay for a short period of time. Only concern is brake dust will get in between piston and cylinder. That's what the boot is for as you know already. Piston might not go in and out smoothly and get stuck eventually. Few days should be alright, but just fix it ASAP and make sure to clean up the area with brake cleaner when you install the boot.
