Well, I'm telling you now so shutup and listen.

You are correct. The difference is that these people have lived this way for generations and are generally kept in darkness (as far as I can tell). If they knew of freedom and the life of freedom do you think they would put up with their government? Anyone who won't comply is silenced and therefore the people are ruled by a tyrannical, corrupt government. That's why our founding fathers put a little clause in our bill of rights that guarantees freedom of speech. Our forefathers went through all this s*** already and knew what they were doing when they wrote our founding documents.

Lets say that Haiti pretends to be a democracy and the people elect the rulers. The media is not free to speak. Lets say that everyone votes and the candidates rig the election. The people think that the majority voted this candidate in and the media is silenced so the people don't discover the election was rigged. Therefore they live in darkness and have no idea WTF is going on.

You have to wonder though.

Freedom and capitalism go hand in hand. Money is the root of evil. Wouldn't this put more money in to the hands of the people and therefore cause more violence?

I'd be interested to see the comparison of violent crimes in a democratic system vs a tyrannical system.

Violence = prison. If you violate your rights to freedom they are taken away.

Humans are humans. Wherever you go there will be troublemakers whether in a place of prosperity or a place of poverty. Now what you can do about that I don't know. . . .

I'll bet there is little difference. It would depend on who the leader of your country is. Would be interesting to see, though.

Boy this thread is all screwed up.

1. It's a nice gesture that the homeless did what they did, until you dig deep and point out their faults. Point is, they donated, good for them!

2. I see PMQ's point, and agree with the "can't compare," but it should still be noted that you should help when you can, or even if you want to, if you can live with yourself in either choice to help or not.

3. And seriously PMQ, just admit you were wrong in some of your thoughts, and stop looking like a douche.

4. Jesda you brilliant man, well worded post! I agree with it 100%.
