How are you people getting over 130? Mine WILL. NOT. GO. FASTER. I only do it on race tracks...is that why? lol.

100Mph on my way to Atlantic City with two people in the car egging me on lol

I was very surprised how well it handled, very smooth, no floating or bouncing. They fell in love with my car.

I don't think I'll take it past that, at least for now. Got a speeding ticket two weeks ago for doing 55 in a 25mph. The M35 has been christened. :)

Most recent in my 2004 was a BMW on my butt for miles. We both went onto an on ramp to get on 91 North in CT. Easied my M up to 70, merged and soon hit 120. The beemer could not hang or was afraid. I could see he was trying, but gave up around 100mph. I don't think he had a clue what he was chasing. Love this sleeper.

Will do. Coming to you from Windsor. So your's is Silver, mine is Silver, I've seen a Black one on occasion in various locations in CT. Besides the 3 including mine I haven't see any others in the State.

105 Mph at a school zone... j/k, I think i've hit 130 mph, maybe a little faster, while passing another car on a 2 way state road.

Update: Just did 142 and then I was quickly running out of pedal and real estate. Still felt stable.

Double E,

Dang that is fast. You and I have had a few posts about our old M45's. When I get some new tires and make a Foxwoods casino run on whatever that road is, the one that is wide open, long, no traffic and with no curves I am just going to have to see if I can beat your speed. Hang on a second, the cops are at my door. Guess I got caught just thinking about it. Someday we need to hook up and compare the cars. 142mph, I am duly impressed. Best I can offer today is when I have some JO in anything on my tail within the 40mph range I barely have to hit the gas and that M will dust him off anytime, all the time. I love it.

It may have been nearly all she had.

Yes, it did take awhile.

Les Baer, I probably wont take it up that far again unless I go to Bonneville. (It's on my bucket list).

Now hang on, how can the M45 possibly only go 142? A stock M35 sport tops out at 158mph in the real world

There may have been a misunderstanding...that's just how fast I was going. As I said I was nearly out of pedal, real estate and it "may" have been all she had.

It also has 113K on the clock.

I think 158MPH is on paper (technical specs) not the real world ...unless there's someone here claiming to have done it.

Ive done it twice in my M35. That is the physical limit, not the technical limit. Wind resistance, pavement resistance and the weight of the car make the M35 only capable of going 158 before the engine simply cant push the car any faster. Pretty much no one believes me, but I had a friend in the car when I did it the second time and next time I do it I can get a pic if you want.

Cool. No need to show me. I doubt I'll ever ask mine for 15mph more myself ...unless that Bonneville trip comes together.

Crashing the M at 158mph would be a treat for the EMS that arrive at the scene! :rotfl The next time you drive that fast take a pic of the odometer and post it on NICO.

157mph a week after I bought it Tampa (4yrs ago).........2006 M45 running on PS2's at the time. I was a little surprised the limiter didn't kick in.
Little to no traffic, daylight, ultra smooth stretch of road on I75.........It was still pulling but I couldn't see far enough ahead for police, so I coasted...........That V-8 is so smooth and strong.

@ Double E,

You very well could have done that 158 in the M35, especially if I was still pulling at 157.
I would venture to guess, given the 'proper' race track with a long enough straight, the M45 would be able to hit close to 170.

Those first gen Q45's were good for roughly 170 without a rev limiter.

Ouch. You're brave. I like to wear in the engine a little before pushing it. But if you've gotta do it, Tampa is the place!

I once went 25-30mph in reverse. Flipped the car around, put down about 50ft of rubber and motored on up to around 80mph. Does that count?

How are you guys getting past 130? Are not all M's governed? I'm pretty damn sure mine is because I have tried 10+ times to get past 130 lol.

I have a spot of race track that I frequent which allows me to go all the way. I have no issues getting to 130 (pulls steady all the way), but after that it just stops.
