Anyone know if the 03-04 M45 or the 05-present m45 are faster?

Yea...who would win? haha I think we are all on "the track" so to speak while it would be illegal to reach these speeds on public roads. Had the M45 to 110 on the track...and my Legend one to 140...on the track. Cant try to kill the new ride yet though I am sure I will some day. hahaKTW

When my friend was driving my drunk @$$ to his house (yager bombs all night w/dressed patrons) he hit around 145-150mph. He didn't tell me till the next week lol, but he made me feel better by saying he was toying with the last generation Mustang GT and a z28 *shrugs* He also passed a cop who didn't even flip his lights on :O I should have beat my friend senseless since he only drove like that in my IS300.D.

Ive hit the 145-150 mark before but it's been a few months and i dont have pics/recording, on a particularly adventurous day I did record this and upload it though (~130):

It's clearer if you put it to into the non-zoomed mode.

I recently took my M45 up to 135 on the Dan Ryan at about 4am. There was a lot of wind noise coming from above the windows and the tires were kind of loud. The ride was silky smooth though.

Had a guy who worked at Infiniti corporate in the early days tell me he had a 1990 Q45 on either Phoenix or W Texas proving ground up to 160+ mph timed.

Totally agreed. Always be safe and courteous.

Like I said earlier in this thread:

When I bought my car last october we drove it from IL back to phoenix. My girl was driving, I was riding shotgun with my laptop and air card probably searching this forum and I noticed that the wind noise had increased a little. I looked up and asked how fast we were going and she said 120mph. I put my head back down and kept searching the internet - lol

I don't like top speed runs....I like to do onramp wot runs....fatsest I got on an onramp was 110mph-ish - I'm sure I've gone faster but I pay attention to the road not the speedo when I'm going that fast. In my old turbo 300zx I wrapped the speedo all the way around past the 145mph mark and hit my shift light at 6800rpm in 5th gear. I did the math and I was going 167mph. Only reason I know is because it was videotaped.

Holy Crap! that's 176mph!!! How is your Mines ECU? how long was shipping? is the rest of your car stock meaning intake and exhaust? Since you are overseas do you know what your rear differential ratio is?

2 words......Awesome!

My car is stock without any modification but the ecu is from mine`s . Mines ecu changed the rev limiter from 6800 rpm to 7250 rpm .But , i took the ecu to a special car computer specialist and changed the rev limit to 7500 rpm. Actually the car was able to go for more speed but the road have a speed camera .

He's in Bahrain which is overseas. Correct me if I'm wrong 450GT - He ordered a Mines ECU from japan and then found someone to tune it for more rpms.

You can say that. You call them i told them where i live and what i need. They it is difficult because a problem which they say that i can not installed it without a professional. What i did is told to send it by DHL to my address and told them i do what they told me. I told my friends about the problem . one of them said that he know someone which is elctrical / electronic specialist in nissan cars. I went there and said yes i can install that but do you need me to upgrade the new ecu . After thinking i said yes

Go to a specialist and they might help you to decode the original ecu if you don`t want to buy the mine`s ecu and tell them to remove the speed limiter if he can . The specialist I went for . Told me give chance to decode your original ecu but i told him no . But he said that the original ecu can go to 280km/h and more without speed limit. My friend told me that blitz made a flash to original ecu and do what ever you want to do. But i don`t recommand it can damage your engine if made tuneing wrong.

Take your M to UpRev and have them do it the right way! They have all the tuning knowledge, tools, chassis dynometer, and codecs needed to tune the Infiniti ECU's as needed.

Give them a call and see what they can do for your specific ride. They specialize in tuning Nissan vehicles.

I just called UpRev and they said my ECU was patched and ready but the real time tuning hadn't been added yet. They said they are super busy with a ton of projects but hope to get mine done this week and ready for tuning next week. I expect alot of power to be added, but only time will see.

My advise is to wait till I'm done, then call with a fury to uprev so they can add it as a product line. They can tune any nissan/infiniti so it doesn't matter m35 or m45 - call!! I'm adding boost as soon as possibleas long as the stock fuel system can take it.

Not validating his claim, but if you run the gear ratios (available from here http://blogs.thecarconnection....specs) and tire size through gearcalc (available from here http://www.locost7.info/gearcalc.php )

4th gear is close to 6000 RPM @ 150

Theorectically possible, of course gear calc doesn't adjust for coefficient of friction or tire deflection (which impacts rotation diameter)

From my experience, the car would shift into 5th at about 140 when in automatic mode. If you were in manual-shift mode, I think I could hold it until about 145-150 (per speedometer)... it DEFINITELY hit 5th gear before the speed limiter.

Oops! thanks for the ratio corrections, for some reason I thought he had the prior gen... thanks!
