Meh well that sucks, I hope my JGY TopHat copycats are better quality. They are supposed to be made in house by JGY, so I hope they have their stuff down.

The JGY's seem to be great quality, they are in right now but I won't know till next week how they function with the engine in. I'll be posting pics for sure once it's in

Is your car the one on their website in the gallery? If so I think it's pretty sweet looking and I envy you.

We have try to work with the company that built the BLUE POLY issolator for us, The made several changes to the poly forumla and bonding prodecures to make the issolator stronger pull test to 1650# in the production one and still had some separate not many but some. The NEW company is using a different hardness and formula which they say will be much stronger. and the new drift/drag mount will stop the problems of the solid mount by providing a special hardness poly spacer....

Blown240sx that was the orginal style..... thank for the input..

Cool man its great to see vendors than actually talk to their customers on a more personal level. Shows commitment and respect for us which is given back in return by more buisness from me and anyone who I help on RB swaps.

I would be concerned equally about shear if not more than I would be about a tension pull test...

Hmmm... interesting. Check for surface defects as I'm sure you already do(cracks, chips etc)... anything like that will be a stress concentration that a crack/tear could propagate from to cause a failure, and very small counts... if the molding was porous it could cause the same thing but internally...

I have seen a friend of mine take a failed McKinney mount and redesigned it in a very very good engineering way. First he tossed the old rubber donuts that didn't stay glued. Then he went and found some old valve springs that I think came out of his old VG which was roughly the same height as the old rubber donut. He welded each end of the valve spring to the mount brackets where the rubber isolator would have gone. After that he pulled the mounts back out the car and filled the area inbetween with windshield polyurothane to cover and surround the welded valve springs sitting between the mount brackets. I must say it works very very well the way he did it as unlike a bolt, a valve spring can compress and decompress with the isolator. Doing a bolt method, there won't be much flexing around at the isolator due to the bolt staying at one preset length turning it into a semi solid mount.

Thanks alot Mack, as I stated in a previous thread, I would have gone with your mounts but didn't have the money at the time! This is just another indication that Mckinney has customer service done right. Now to save for that driveshaft for the RB20 when I decide that the 2-peice is ghey!

Is McKinney STILL trying to push parts here without being a vendor?

I hope my eyes are deceiving me.

BTW - You guys should see the RB25 mounts that Jason (rotorimp) made - They put the McKinney AND TopHat units to shame.

Unfortunately, I don't think he's going to be making them for sale...

If they break again make some of those Dixie cup Isolators. It'll probably be a little mor forgiving than the hockey pucks.

Did you go to that Dyno Shootout on Sunday by kendall Lexus???I got there late after all the Dyno's.One of the supra's made like 747whp.

It's a competitive biz, Mack. If your product is the best, people will see that. Those who don't, aren't important - that's business. There will always be negative opinions of certain products.

My post isn't advertising anyone, I was simply pointing out that the ones made in a garage by a good fabricator, using the engine and the chassis, are better than anything I've seen on the market. They're not for sale.

If you're posting to help someone with their RB swap, that's great, that's what we're here for. If you're posting to promote your products, then that's unfair to thosewho actually pay for the privilege.

By the way, 400hp and 1200 miles, still going strong:

zer...age=1

This is on a KA-T, and I have the benefit of adjustability (height).

Make sure to use Grade 8 Allthread, and save your money for other goodies.

Who wants to be changing broken motor mounts? Good thing those didn't snap at a 4,000 rpm dragstrip launch.
