For me; in no particular order, it would be:

1) Color - Pearl White such a clean look

2) Not many Q45's on the road

3) Power - when needed power is more than efficient

4) The drive - Its nothing short of fun

5) Size - I really love the size, more then enough room.

I like my Q because not many people have it and I always get asked what kind of car it is (the back is shaved only left with infiniti logo). I love the v8 power too.!

^^^^I did the same thing, which for some reason looks good. I will see if anybody I know has a digi cam and take some pics.

Since they aren't on the road a lot, I get a couple of BMW 7 series rolling up next to me along with some 300's. I low stance but length of the car is of todays design.

About three of these threads in the older posts.

It all comes down to fully restored vs. barely hanging on but it has dubs.

Yup, the exact same resons for me, including the color. Really superb car. Wish they would bring it back.Steve97Q45t

Pretty much those same reasons

In no particular order:

--The drive. The car drives wonderfully. Admittedly my car's not stock, but I'd find it hard to improve on my car's driving experience.

--The looks. Absolutely without a doubt one of the most attractive sedans of all time.

--The engine/power/sound/muscle.

--The following. Not just us as owners, but all the other like-minded car guys who say "hey, nice Q, I love those things." Even though we're complete strangers, we have that in common. Very cool. It's one of the things I loved about being a Maxima owner, too. We have a "cult car."

--The size. Big sedans will always be my favorite cars.

And I'll go with 6:

--The cockpit/interior. I love it. The wraparound driver-centric cascade is the way things are supposed to be done. I drove my dad's '04 Maxima yesterday (which I haven't done for a while) and felt like I was in a minivan compared to the Q. The Q's on-the-floor seating position (though not quite as wonderfully low as my Maxima's was) and ample driver legroom are great, especially when combined with that cockpit.

I couldn't agree with you more on this one. Its amazing. I parked next to a Pearl White 2007 G series last night. When I left the club, I was walking with two of my female friends to our cars. They asked "Where you parked?" I pointed to the Q45 right next to the 07 G series and they gave a look like Ohh. They where in an 07 Maxima, and I had to follow them. When I got to their house, the first thing the girl said was. "Thats good, you know how to keep up, thats good driving." I am not sure what kind of power a top of the line 07 Maxima has, but I had no problems keeping up at all. Plenty of power to throw around with ample cabin comfort to do it effortlessly.

Maxima makes 255hp (265 by the old Q-era SAE standard) but weighs ~600-700 lb less than the Q.

Another great one. I feel great knowing I have a better car than most new car buyers, but I have no car payment.

Since I just purchased my Q this month I have limited experience with this car but I would have to say:

-Ride comfort-Power (my last car was an 04 Maxima, not shabby but not a Q)-Luxury options (reclining rear seats!!)-The V8, even with high gas prices-The pearl white looks good!!!!!!!

1. The joy I get from dusting the ingnorant. Nothing like blowing someone away before you hit 45 MPH.

2. The styling. There's definitely some muscle car in there. Not to mention how good it looks wet, or under a street light.

3. The people that drive Q's. 98% are great people. There are always a few bad apples though.

4. The amount of info available about it. What other car has that much info online? (excluding NICO cars) If there is one, I don't give a damn.

5. The ego boost that you get from paying $65+ per fill up. I love watching newer model cars come to the stations and ask for $12 worth of regular while I coolly tell the attendant, "Fill me up Premium. Credit." and then saunter away.

I think if you were to ask top five reasons you hate your Q, you would get a much better response lol.

1. Uniqueness. Once in a great while i will see another Q45 on the road.

2. VH engine is superb. v8s in other lux cars just feel like truck engines. And 6 and 4 cyl... get out of here!!! V8 or go home (unless its V12 of course!)

3. I like the fact that the aftermarket is very limited for these cars leaving only serious tuners out there making their own mods or importing aftermarket parts, and weeding out the ebay-lovin-kit-building-euro-tailight-buying ricers out of our cars! lol

4. Aesthetics. Including size and weight.

5. confort. true luxury car feel.

I love my Q, but it doesn't boost my ego at all when I have to pay that much for gas though. Maybe it's just me... Now, driving this car when I was in college...yea my ego was on another level.

1. I love that I don't have a car payment! Whenever my transmission goes, I wouldn't mind spending the money for the reman one because the motor is running strong.

2. I love that people are surprised when I tell them that my car is a 98 and they think that is much newer! My black paint w/ Eagle's 1 spray wax is the key.

3. I love that car's interior swallow my 6'2" 220lb frame and floats on the road with my chrome dubs !

I love:

1. Nobody knows what the heck my car is, especially since lowering it and putting the M45 19" rims on it2. The motor, while not as much horse as gen 1, it is powerful, has lots of torque and is quite when I want it to be and grunts when I ask it3. The interior is great and seats are comforable4. Handles like a motha' after the mods, handled okay before but now like a slot car for a car that big5. Totally paid for and looks like it is brand new with 90k on the odo, but looks new, runs new.

I have owned my Q45 since 1992, It has been reliable, always got lots of Kudos from people about how great the car looks, the design is timeless and never really wanted any optional equipment except cup holders, navigation and newer Infiniti wheels, I got the nav and the wheels if I could only figure out a good cup holder!

Like to Thank Everyone who has contributed to this forum, the info is invaluable and has helped me keep my Q running strong! Also the manufacturer's quality has made it the best car I have ever owned!

I will add to my Top five as well. The car gets looks no matter what. I think the fact that there are now so many cars on the road that mimic each other that looking at a 1990-1996 Q45 makes people wonder, new or old. I keep my ride extremely clean which adds to it. I told a lady how much I paid, and she almost lost a lung....I can't say what she screamed out loud when I told here.

With the sunroof open and windows slightly down cruising is a joy. I have no problems pulling up to an 07-08 anything. Once again for the fact that I paid cash makes me feel even better. Even though parts and repair are very expensive reliability in general gets high marks from me.

I would like to have a better head unit then the stock and maybe a slight upgrade in sound system. I'd love to redo the stock suspension, and repaint bumpers. But those things don't stop me from appreciating my ride. I can't talk enough about power. Gas prices don't effect me as much do to the fact that every body is having a tough time no matter what you drive. Lets keep it rolling and enjoying the "What is that your driving" Q45

Thats funny you mentioned that, but I thought there are so many repair threads and how do I fix it threads that I wanted to bring out the best of each owner and find out what people do like. I don't see many Q's on the road and when I do they are kept in a real pour condition . I can't figure out why. Any hoooo. Lets keep this going, I'm motivated.

I dont mean to rock your world, but the Q45 is no rocketship. It is a respectable car for its size and maybe at its time, but it is still not a powerful car. High 15s is not exactly drag racer territory (on a 1st gen)

That's true. But since the Q was never intended for drag racing, I'd say that's forgivable. The Q shows it's prowess on the freeway, not at stoplights. Acceleration above 50mph doesn't disappoint.

It's not hard to make Qs fast, though. My Q has only minor mods (stock engine, no FI, etc.) but has done the 1/4 in 14.3 seconds. I'd say that's pretty impressive for a 4000lb car that has hasn't sacrificed any luxury except in the ride quality department (and that's objective).

Stock it isnt that quick. I bought my Q thinking it was a quick car, but it isnt all that once I verify some data on my GPS meter. From 65-83 (what I call the hwy test), the car takes 5.0 sec to do. That is slower than a 200hp 3L VQ Maxima. I do agree it isnt bad for a 4000lbs car, but I think people are stretching it to think it is fast.

Your right you should have got the 1990 to 1993 model which had variable timing,You could always buy a G37 if you want a real thrill,

For any owners who are concerned about the current price of fuel, being light footed can save a20% in costs, Drive Safe and Enjoy your Q45, It certainly can provide you with a Quality Ride, Great Performance and Reliability.

Dont they have it till 95?

Btw the other poster hit 14.3 in a 1st gen? How did you get an extra 50HP?

Had a 350z, not fast enough and got something a little faster.

"65-83 (what I call the hwy test), the car takes 5.0 sec to do."..........that's on a 18mph range.

For 14 years [since I put in Dinan ECU] my 90 Q has done 50-80 in 5.8 +-0.1 seconds....................about 120 stopwatch tests in exactly the same spot - part of my quarter performance evaluation from 35k to 315k on 3 different transmissions and 2 different diffs.

Maybe you need an ecu software change?

OH I see the problem a 1995, yes the transmission gear does hurt your performance in the 50-100 mph range and the oval head ports and extra cat back pressure and emission software to match cats............SORRY. No easy SOUP for you.

Here where some of your 1995 choices according to MT Tests1995 BMW 740iL 7.9 16.01995 Cadillac STS 6.4 14.71995 Cadillac DeVille Concours 6.9 15.2

Nissan was fighting the failures they produced in 1994 [emission problems with new 1994 requirements and new cats] so they over did it with 1995 models to make up to EPA..................no proof just what I heard from their engineers. The 1996 was a cluster Fxxk but it passed EPA new OBD2 tests at least once.

Thank you!!! I just sit back and shake my head when I read these endless post on "how I smoked" someone off of a red light with the Q45 . We all love our cars, but these cars and not fast compared to some of the cars that I've read in the past that their Q45 smoked. I farted at my desk awhile back when I read a post that stated their Q smoked the new Mercedes CL500 ! BTW, the 1 gen Q45 are only tenths faster than the Y33's. The whole notion of the 1 gen hp are much greater than the 2 gen has been stretched too far.
