Weather wasn't exactly the nicest today to do any body work, so I turned my attention to my motor. Which has been waiting for me to tear down and install some valve seals & BC springs, replace all gaskets, and install a new head gasket. Long story short, it looked like it had a stock HG and it was leaking pretty badly out the front about the front cover. Got to the head bolts and they were stock, get the head off and I have a Power Enterprise 1.1mm Head Gasket sitting there. And the reason it was leaking was that who ever put it together before didn't wipe the excess sealant when installing the front cover (didn't sit flush left a gap). So now the question is reuse the PE 1.1mm HG or the new Cometic 1.3mm HG that I bought. What do you guys think?

Motor's going to be running HKS 256 cams, 740cc, z32 maf, gt28rs

Replace it with a new one or you will end up having to do it again.

Thats not exactly what I thought I would hear. I've read several instances where people have reused MLS head gaskets. Good imput though. Thank you

Better safe than sorry. Personally, I'd prefer to only do work once. It may work out for you but if not, then more work.......

Yeah its metal... It's a $250 HG thats the only reason I thought it might be better using it instead of my $75 Cometic. I wasn't having any problems with it other than the leak in the front so I thought it might be cool.

On one condition would I reuse it, and that's if I was swapping head studs to ARP's...
