That's why I said "often." There are definitely some great looking buicks, too.

Don't worry, The Grand National and GNX are among my very favorite cars, and I love the bodystyle.

Chevy > Buick

If you wouldn't mind, could you give me the cliff notes(or full length) of why the buick is better?
Suck on it PMQ. I shut down so many damned Chevy's in my Buick that I lost count. Same with Mustangs. Not only was the 350 better, but the Buick 455 had the shortest stroke and largest bore of all the GM big blocks. It also responded the best to mods. Put the same mods on a 454 as you do a 455 and the Buick makes significantly more power. Car Craft did this test a few years back. I don't know where it is right now, but I'm not completely talking out of my a** here.

The GNX and other Turbo Regals are in a class of their own. These cars pwned ALL in the late 1980's. The F-bodies and Vettes just got clowned on in drag races. A huge advantage of many of the TR's is their sleeper status, especially now twenty years later. I could go on and on espousing the virtues of the muscle-car era Buicks and the Turbo Regals but I'll spare you all the discourse for now.

I will however contest the claim that the Buicks are ugly. They're friggin' beautiful. Cases in point:

Did I mention that modded Buicks make no power at all?

I remember seeing a '69 Camaro running the Turbo Buick motor...

don't forget about the '89 GTA...I think it was the fastest US car from the 80's...

Nope, can't forget the TTA. It wasn't quicker than the GNX though. I think it would do 160 on the top end, which is faster than a TR.

Wes, I know exactly how you feel.. Everytime I talk to this one guy he tries to talk me into getting an SR for my 240 instead of building the KA which I have already started working on because "I would rather start with a factory turbo motor than a factory NA" It dosent matter if you are replacing everyting anyway. Whenever a conversation comes up about fast cars, I always bring up your Q..It is just too impressive to leave out.. The only thing I dont like about it is the front end.. I think its where it flattens out right above the bumper. But noone thinks that a 4-door Infiniti like a Q45 can be fast. Thats kinda like my Maxima.. '98 5-spd. My little brother was following me last night in his '95 240sx and I pulled out on the highway and ran to about 4k at 1/2 throttle or somewhere around there (it starts to misfire after 1/2). Anyway, he called me and asked if that was all the max had because he had his 240 wide open and running about 7k before shifting just barely keeping up, and his car runs better than any 240 I have driven. There is just something to be said about the way Nissan makes cars..and noone understands the passion that Nissan guys have for their cars.. That is why I like it here (NICO) so much, almost everyone understands this.

On the Jeep topic, I drove the newer (95,6,7 something like that) Cherokee with the AWD V8 and I liked it.. It handled VERY nicely...better than I would ever expect a Jeep to handle and had very good power down low. If I could find one at the right price I would probably buy one. Although I have heard that the Full time AWD Jeeps have bad problems with the transfer cases...

Buick.. The 2-door sports car they had I think was pretty cool, I havent seen one in a while but the Grand National is PURE SECKS!!! I love that car.. I wish I could find one...at a decent price...I saw one at the local drag strip one night with a 4 speed I think.. Didnt even give it 100% throttle until halfway down the track (1/8 mile) and still almost lost it. I was amazed! My uncle had one a long time ago.. I never got to ride in it though..it was history before I got in this world.

Wow, that was long....

Ok, nevermind, I think yours is the one that I like. I just looked on ebaymotors and the 94 and up I liked. When they started puting the grill in instead of just the plain front with the Infiniti badge.

Give me a 94 in ivory pearl, replace everything (except the gold clock, chrome grille, chrome strips, and a-pillar tweeters) with parts from the 1990, then fix the chain guides and throw on some BBS wheels. That'd be a perfect Q. I go back and forth between which body style I prefer. At the end of the day I think the Seville and XJ are better looking anyway.

he makes a solid point.

I still feel the best looking Q is the Y33 though...

they give off "I'm a rich bastard that'll f*** your daughter" aura.
