Ok, I am replacing my springs with Eibach and am not sure what shock and strut kit to go with them. I read that Tokico have had problems with some people, what do you guys think is the best combination with Eibach, Tokico or Koni? Please give me part numbers and explanation as to why to go with that particular one. If you guys know where I could get the whole set as a complete package, please send me the link. thanks guys

Coming together, slowly but surely..

Are you getting Koni Yellows? Because those are pretty nice, a lot of people do/sell an eibach/tokico combination, can't remember any websites off hand... : (

in the above link there used to be a deal for everything as a "kit" (springs + struts/shocks) but the page is ****ed up.

Does Koni make their adjustables for the 240 yet? I know they make them for a lot of other cars, and a lot of my friends have them and they love them.

If you have the $$$ pick up some Tein's. Full coilover is the best way to go.

listen to apexi, a full coil over system is the best, and after all is sadi and done, you'd probably not spend that much more than you would have if you ordered individual pieces and "pasted" them together. I just ordered tokico's today, great! Hopefully mine will perform well!!!

Any feedback on tokicos would be much appreciated!

I don't know how well Tokicos are in the s14 world, but in the Maxima world they tend to blow really early. Koni's are the best among struts and shocks compared to KYBs and Tokicos, though if they make KYB AGXs for the S14, they are pretty up there with Koni, just less expensive, at least for the Maxima world.

yeah, they are releasing the AGX for the s14 some time "Soon". I really didn't want to wait for them (probably regret this one day) but I'm hoping to get some track time in before hibernation.

hey Ben, dope ride man!!!

If it wasn't for te maxima, I would have never even known about Nissan (my dad has a '92)

Damn right, Maximas was the perfect car for me, until i found my S14 :ylsuper .

THE AGX (Adjustable shocks) are available for the S14, BUT only the front ones, for the price you cant go wrong, see my pic that was my perfect setup, (For me, my roads, and driving).

yeah, but everyone keeps telling me they aren't available to Canada yet! WTF? Ah, I already ordered the tokicos, no looking back now, and the price is alright, so I'm not complaining. Actually, the price was great, 660 Canadian, taxes in. Thats about 380 or something US, for all 4. Not too bad, eh?

:)

thanks dude, and i couldn't find pics of your wheels?

MY WHEELS? :D

$380 sounds good, for me saving $1000+ for tein coilovers are impossible because of my "spending habits", so the next best thing was shocks and struts. and what a difference they make from blown OEM stuff.

I just got Koni adjustables "yellows" and Eibach Sportlines installed and the car handles so nice. I had koni yellows on my Integra also, they are great quality. I have heard that Tokicos are basically like stock struts for lowering. I love the idea of coilovers like Tein or JIC but the one argument I heard about them was it was hard to get every wheel the same height. But I haven't seen or messed with them in person so I can't say that for sure. But I would recommend Koni adjustables if your going for performance.:D

i was just goin through what everyone was saying, it made me feel alot better bout the AGX's i put on my brothers 240 and im putting on my se-r... and makes me really glad i didnt get a set of tokico illuminas even though they were cheaper! thanks!what i was told about coilovers is the biggest problem with them is to "properly" set them you need 4 individual scales to put under each wheel... then you can adjust them according to the weight they put down... but since very few people have or have accsess to scales like that it makes them kinda hard to adjust. i may be wrong... but this is what i was told...

OK, got the tokicos in, and they are great! Mt rear shocks were blown, so the front end lift off of take off was IMPROVED DRASTICALLY, and the comfort level is still maintained, actually a little more comfortable for me at least. Car doesn't appear to look slammed from the outside, I think the drop was for about1"-1.25", not a whole lot, but its my daily driver and I didn't want to be scrapping everywhere. One problem; I heard a nasty rattling clanging sound yesturday, I'm going to drop off my car in a couple hours to get it checked. I'll be back..........

hey, just got back from the shop to get that rattling sound checked out. Know what it was? The freakin rear passenger side shock blew on me! Damn, was only on the car since Friday, and its Monday now, and I know the shock blew yesturday, so that equal 2 whole days of driving with the shock, what a jip!!!! Should have just bought the cheaper stuff, kyb gr2's! like I said, if I could do it all over again, I'd just get the coil over set up. Tokico's warranty is covering the replacement shock, hopefully it was just a defect (95silviase seems to have no problems) and not a common porblem. Hey 95, how long have you had your shocks? And are they blue?

Well I decided on the Koni's. They arrived on Friday and I will be installing them this week. They will be on the car for a few weeks before I get the Eibach springs, is this going to be a problem or do I have to add the aftermarket springs at the same time?

i would just wait, the job takes a few hours to do and you may as well wait for the springs and kill two birds with one stone...be sure to rent a spring compressor also when you install them...its kind of a pain to use but youll get the hang of it..

they've been on about 3 weeks. so not very long at all. yes they are blue. a fellow enthusiast here in town has some tokico's on w/ pro-kits for like 3 years and they are fine. i'm pretty sure they are tokico's....i'll have to double check. he actually talks on here sometimes, his name is cnichols
