I spend a lot of time driving with the cruise control set and the ALS (automatic speed limiter) set. My felony stupid things are normally 20 seconds or less and on a freeway on ramp or in a deserted part of the interstate outside of town alone on a biz trip. I'm torn between how fun the car is to drive like a jerk and keeping my license. I have yet to participate in a stop light drag race although I am frequently challenged.

Here is a video of a freeway on ramp example 0-125 ish took about 18 seconds and I couldn't use full throttle until after 35 mph in 1st and it still broke the tires loose so I just grabbed 2nd gear early. If everything went right traction wise on most freeway on ramps I can hit 135 mph. I also shifted into 5th early 4th redlines @ 135 mph. Once on the freeway brake back down to 75 mph set the cruise set ASL for 85 mph.

I have received two speeding tickets in my entire life both for 56 in 40 and both in October of 1996.

Reminds me more than a little of Maserati's new drool-producing machine, the 2014 GranTurismo MC Stradale:

How much is the F-Type? Even at 1/3 or 2/3 of the price (depending on the trim), I think I'd take the Italian over the Brit.

The problem with most Maserati's is that Ferrari still sticks them with the dated 4.3 V8 from the Ferrari F430 and the F1 gear box with fragile clutches that require 30/60/90 replacement.

The F type is $108k for the top 495 hp (rated probably closer to 550 hp) supercharged 5.0 V8 same motor as my XFSC but with an 8 spd ZF auto instead of my 6spd ZF auto. The f-type is closer in size to a boxster than a Maserati anything. The F-type is a two seat car with a joke of a trunk that could house a garment bag and a duffle thats about it

Agree that the Maz gearboxes have a long earned reputation for being fragile, and horrifically expensive to repair/replace post warranty. Though I'd also be concerned about owning an F-type Jeeeeaaaaaag after the warranty expires for the same exact reason.

The ZF Jag is using since being purchased by Tata is the same ZF that BMW, Chevy bunch of manufacturers use now. Rather than design their own nighmare transmission they wisely selected ZF. The torque management system on the new Jags is very good at preserving the transmission. My car unmodified makes 448 RWHP, my buddies car with a 1.7lb more boost pulley and the XK-RS engine software makes 480 RWHP both on the same type dyno. My car runs a traction limited 12.8 his runs a traction limited 11.9. The torque control software on the computer will fight making more power in most conditions no matter what you do to the motor. The drive train on the new Jags is solid, everything else is a little better than the Ford years.
