$700? That seems crazy. Tint doesn't cost most for the tinter, you are just paying for his labor. My guy charges $120 per car and is great. Maybe it depends on your area, but $700 seems insane.

You don't understand, Jason. I can get $120 tint job with Formula One or Ziebart or whatever, but that's a dyed plastic or a metalized film that will deteriorate.

The labor isn't the cost, it's this new tint. It's unreal.

I got to test a car that has it, and it's amazing. Even in the blazing AZ sun, there was NO heat coming through the side and rear glass... Nearly 100% UV protection. The interior surface of the glass was the same temp as any other surface of the car, and the A/C cooled it in a jiffy.

City of Phoenix is using this ceramic-coating technology on its bus windows. Consider that ceramic coatings are used in the aerospace and racing industries to seal off parts from heat, and you'll see why this stuff is amazing.

Lifetime warranty, transferable. They also warranty your interior from drying/cracking (FOR LIFE) if applied on a new car. Not a bad investment for your $40K car, IMO.

I it was costing me $700, I wouldn't be doing it, BTW. I'm a po' white child. :D

My guy doesn't charge me for the tint, just his labor. He also uses a heat gun so the rear window is ALL ONE PIECE. I suggest anyone that's getting tint to have it the rear all one piece. If they are a good shop, then you won't have to ask. Mine is Johnson's brand and carries a lifetime warranty. I had it on my last car for 6 years while everyone elses turned other colors. It's a great product. A few years back he used to to use 3m, when it was better than the rest, but now he uses this. I'm thoroughly impressed with it's durability and price.

No, Huper is a proper noun, so just Huper Three.

Interesting.

I'll let you guys know how it turns out. In the meantime, check out the specs and whatnot - I'll see if I can get a smoking deal on it for anyone who's in the Phx area.

BTW, there are only 2 guys in AZ who are even authorized to install this stuff - They have to go to some special training or whatever...

I am going to check it out. If Hitman is impressed, then it must be some good stuff. I went to the website and requested some info, so I will let you guys know what they say. I am hoping that they have a location that can do it here in Indy. I think that it would be worth $700.

Well then, I would assume that it might be a little cheaper to do a G35 coupe.

I'll let you know. I still haven't gotten a reply yet. I am probably going to call around town this weekend to see if anyone has it. I'll keep you informed of what I find.

I just had a very pleasant phone call with the director of the Huper Optik National Distribution Center in Houston.

He will be getting me information on where NICO members can get Huper Optik products applied anywhere in the US (major markets only, as few people are qualified to apply the new ceramic-based films).

In addition, he has offered to include a blurb about NICO in their national newsletter, which goes out to all dealers, distributors and customers - to increase exposure for our site. :D

Once they have sufficient automotive installers certified to apply the new films, we will be discussing advertising on the site, as they're very eager to support NICO... They're very impressed with our efforts, especially given that we're a volunteer-based club.

Looks like you have decided to tint the windows. Now you are just looking at what and where to have the tint done.I think that red cars look great with tint. Most cars look better with tint IMO.On both my Nissans I had the dealer tint the window before I picked them up.

Sorry to hear about that. Hows the search coming so far?

As for Wes's comment on coming to Indiana, your more than welcome here, but keep in mind that we have lost more jobs than any other state the past 2 years.

Hang in there. You do have a sugar momma right?

Sugar mama is a stay-at-home mom, since we have 3 midgets...

I'd go to Indy, but I'm sure things are the same there as here. But I'm doing a nationwide search, so I'll see what pans out...

I herd from the proverbial Fred today that you had a gig(may be looking to talk to you sometime for a hookup) for now to help pay the bills.I don't think that you will have any trouble getting employment worked out.I just hope that you find something that you enjoy doing!;)
