s14, you can't beat the interior or the rear of the car, but my only complaint is how short the front of the car is

To clear up a myth

the s14 and s13 pratically way the same, a base model s14 weighs less than a s13 hatch SE for example, and in other cases its just the opposite

I've driven both, I like the S13 way better...just feels more visceral, more connected to the road and more tossable. I like the styling better too. Front end of the zenki S14 is too plain for my tastes.

I'm back in a 240 after a minor lapse in judgement / short break ( LSS : sold my 19k mile black 98 as I didn't - er , obviously !- drive it enough , regretted it horribly and just picked up a pretty much beat 95 SE auto , well it's a 240 ... )

I think the S14 is a fantastic touring car : it's much better on road trips than it really should be and fun on nice sweeping roads . It's kind of like a Honda VFR : sporty but comfortable and stylish in a gentlemanly way but I don't really think of it as a really *sporty* car though it can definately be made into a great one . The S14 is one of my favorite cars visually but everything from the rear wheelwells back could have been much better done ; the way it looks so good from the front more than makes up for it though . I'm probably in the minority who likes the 95-96 ( with unyellowed lamps and non dinged lip ... ) front end better or at least I've done a good job of convincing myself that I do .

Personally , I think of a white or blue S13 Silvia as the best looking 240 . It's been years since I've driven one , they do seem to feel a bit smaller and tighter than a stock S14 .

stock for stock im an s13 guy. the s14 has some serious street car potential. the underpower prob just seems exagerated in the s14. if the weight is the same, i cant tell. s14's(stock) are just so slow. dohc s13 is not really that bad stock.

i like the S14 better... but I cant really make a good comparison since I drove my friends S13 (USDM) in the states and liked it even though its not as powerful as the Japanese counterpart. Now I have an S14 and I love it but I also like the S13's here... theres a special place for S13s in my sack... i mean heart.

Well, I have really only driven a DOHC hatch, so I can't really compare power or interior with the S14, but The S13 exterior styling is so much more appealing to me than stock S14s. The Kouki front end is very nice, although I agree the S14 rear ends are rather lacking the look I imagine when I think 240sx. I had a blast driving a totally stock 5-speed 92 hatch with 233K miles on the clock, ever since I have been fiendin for a hatch ;) Hopefully soon....

i think the old sohc are underpowered too much. My gutted dohc fastback looks sporty, and clean body lines. My girlfriends s14 is amazing, but i still prefer the s13

Yes, now we must keep the CA on the downlow. We don't want all the goodies in the hands of ex-Honda ricers. We all know they are the worst drivers in the world next to the majority of female drivers.

It depends on where you live . S14's are extremely uncommon in New England ; I'm sure if I was in Boston more often I'd see more but as is I usually only see 2 or so a year here and almost always from out of state . Sportscars just don't sell very well in the area around me ; for example I have yet to see an RX-8 on the island . OTOH , in Florida you'll see relative loads of 240's of all kinds along with everything else sporty . Then again , I doubt there are many places where you could drive 3 blocks like from my house to work and see 3 Defender 90's , 2 110's and 2 Hummers ( not H2's ) like here .

Well the rb swaps will probably hit faster than the ca because they are from skylines... and skylines are like wack it material to honda ricers. But the sr is the biggest craze right now with everyone... thats why i like my ca :)

S13, all the way. they feel more snug around me. and the S13-only digital dash/HUD is the nail in the coffin. :)

i like both really--the fact that some people say the chassis is lighter isnt really a good use of comparison. The chassis weight like 100 lbs different or something tiny like that. But s13's have more aggresive cam profile. The s14 and s13 have the same suspension design save for differences set apart from just the model. Theres no real benfit from one to the other. The s14's are wider. Some say this makes the bigger--this just makes them track better on sweeping turns, etc.The s13 coupe is more rigid in the chassis--as it shares the charactoristic of the shelf behind the rear seat. The s13 hatch has alittle too much room for flex. I like s14's The styling is nice, and the body lines look a litle more subtle. The s13 coupes look good--but dont quite blend too well. Same for the s14 kouki--the body lines dont match. Rounded smooth edges, and sharp headlights and tails--it doesnt really blend. In the end--i like s14's Im partial because i own one. But to me they all feel the same--no s13 or s14 is more "sports call feel" over the other. They are the same car, same motor(usdm), just different body lines. Same gearing, same top speed, smae power potential, same handling capabilites.However--an s13 with a s15 front end on it--thats me all the way.

I have both.

I love them both.

But If I have to chose as a daliy driver. I would chose the S13 since it has vent to cool the steering wheel in the summer and heat the steering wheel in the winter. LOL Also it is my first 240SX I ever own! Until all the Hatchbacks.

But I love my 14 for its LSD LOL

LOL

I am not trying to start something. I have a Stock SOHC in my 90 Right now. I have never, lost to a DOHC KA! Its not because I know how to play with the Power Band. If me and my friend trade cars (he has a 93 and I have my 90 S13), with my SOHC he still will bet me.

I know you would say its the condition of the engine. My GF only have about forgot the mileage on her 98 S14 SE but no more then 35K. we were dead even, she is a better drive then me when she is in her 240SX! LOL (She also have a 01 Corolla).

My point is that SOHC S13 IS NOT UNDER POWER! LOL

P.S my SOHC has 125K
