So I'm debating on whether or not to get my roof painted Gloss Black or not. I was going to go with a black vinyl overlay but I think it'll be cheesy looking and the only way to do it right is to just get it painted. What do you guys think?

yeah, I think you're right with the Black and red combo. Bri had a thread out there and it had a red G with the same wheels as mine and his hood was black. But after closer look it was a custom CF roof overlay No talent around here to do that so Black would probably the next best option.

Really,...You think so?

EDIT: I just googled the Scion TC and I never noticed that they had black roofs. LOL Anyway, I don't think my car would ever be mistaken for a Scion TC...or yours too for that matter.

Now that may look sick. I liked it on that G in another thread(I think Loop's updated pic thread)

Either way your car is amazing, so it will look good either way

Its not an overlay on "stoof's" car (the red/black g37) He will be at HIN NY BTW...

Its like a cap, not like a vinyl overlay, but like a piece of real CF in the shape of the roof... like a cap on a tooth.

I think itd look great on your car dangeris... ill still mail you the stuff if you want or you can pick it up at carlisle/HIN. and its always fun to "Try before buy" meaning an overlay before paint.

I think itd look better on your car dangeris just because you have the rear bumper black/red where surman just has it blue... otherwise itd look cool on both IMO.

The only thing I'd worry about blackening the roof is all the heat it would soak in. Looks : taken care of. Money: you obviously got lots of it lying around. Go for it!

Michael, dangeris is in the sticks of PA (i think).. they get like 40 minutes of sunlight a day there!

What I really wanted to do but didnt get around to this winter was dying the roof and pillars black... not wrapping them in something (i like the texture and dont want to worry about sagging in the future).

Maybe that will be an experiment one day later this summer...

Just so everyone knows, We get 50 minutes of daylight, not 40

But I do live in the sticks where the cows out number the human population.

Very surprised to see the "Keep it red" poll out is more than the "Blacken it"

i think im gonna black out my roof

no, but on a serious note, dangeris i think u should overlay it for sure, paint it only if you like the look and the overlay isnt up to par for you. who knows maybe youll be able to get carbon fiber by then.

I think you should hold out and find some place to do the CF roof cap. Then, when you get it done, you should hook me up too! Out of curiosity, are you planning on a CF hood too? If so, then a CF roof would compliment it better than black IMHO...

The headlights and emblem aren't my cup of tea, but other than that (ugly IMO) it's really cool with that front lip and color scheme

I agree. Basically looking to replicate what Vince (aka Loop) did to his car... something like this...minus the intercooler of course...

I agree. I saw a 09 white Maxima this weekend with a black roof and it looked sexy I even wondered to myself if the guy was on NICO.

painting is a big deal dangeris, i agree with a few others here that say do the overlay, gauge sexiness, then commit with the paint if it passes sexy inspection (aka pix hur!!)

Yeah it is a big commit but what's killing me on doing the overlay is that I have that omni-directional antenna on the roof and there's not overlay for that. Not even sure how to take that off to vinyl it.
