i have a 2006 g35 coupe with 33,000 miles i have the original bridgestone protenza.

I want to change them.. i really can hear the road now... i hate them!!!

i'm thinking

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

Yokohama ADVAN Sport

Pirelli PZero Rosso

which one is the best for the coupe. i want a tire that's quiet... i'm tired of hearing the road. right now i'm leaning towards the michelins.

thanks!!!

I had the Yokohama Avids on another car and I loved them. They were quiet, and lasted. They seemed to have good grip too. When it comes time for me to change, I'm looking real seriously at the Yokos.

Just put YOKO avids on my wife's 05 sedan. So far so good. Did quite a bit of research and looking before deciding.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you drive? 33,000 miles on the original tires, is exceptional. Most never make it past 18,000 miles. Do you drive your car hard? I ask because I have 2007 6MT with about 17K and my rear tires look like they may only make it to 20,000 miles. My fron wheels still have some ways to go. So tell me how you drive?

INMHO forget the road noise. Turn up the stereo. Because the tires are so expensive shouldn't handling and longevity be more important? Having quiet tires that wear out after 20k miles would not work for me.

I'm very happy with my new tires. I can feel the difference in the handling of my G with the new tires. The rubber on these tires did seem very hard for the first 500 miles as I felt every expansion joint in the road but after 500 miles that seemed to disappear.I now have over 1k miles on them. Because I got 47k miles on my original Bridgestones and there was not much difference in price between the dealer and other independent dealers, I went with the dealer. If a tire dealer screws up a sensor you'll end up having to go back to the dealer anyway so I did not want to have that possible hassle just to try and save a few bucks.

Good luck in your decision and let us know.

i drive really easy... i don't really go fast or corner. stuck in traffic most of the time. when it's late i sometimes push it. fastest i've gone in my G was 100 -105..

yes you got 47 miles out of them because you were able to rotate your tires. in a coupe you cannot rotate the tires...

i'm still edging towards the michelins. the tread wear grade is 220 on the michelins sport PS2's and the OEM bridgestones is 140... i dont' understand why people are saying the michelins would have a shorter lifespan.

BE WARE!!! Tire wear grade is ONLY good when comparing tires of the SAME BRAND. Evidently, there is no standard across brands.Good luck!!!

I would look at the sticky regarding the Nitto Invos.

I couldn't afford them, so I found some Michellins for the front and Ventus Sports for the rear.

I think the Invos are around $180-$200/tire which isn't bad considering the price of the other tires listed.

Yeah, they would plus they seem like really unique tires and they're assymetrical so you can swap them left to right on the coupes.

I got all of my tires used with no patches for $211 all the way around.

33,000 miles on a G35 Coupe sounds almost impossible unless the middle rear treads are totally bald. Most owners will not get much more than 18,000 miles out of the rears. The fronts can go longer with feathering on the insides. All tires on our Coupes will get noisey on the fronts after 12,000 miles or so due to the negative front camber. My friend has Pilots on his Coupe with 23,000 miles and they scream on decelerating. Good luck with your tire choice. I pesonally go for the least expensive tires and I am on my 3rd set after 23,000 miles. All paid for by the dealer as "good will". The next set is on me.

I've been using Yokohama's since I've had my car. VERY little road noise, great traction, and GREAT tread wear

IMHO the only mods necessary are on Ford Mustang's to make them start and run.
