I need some expert opinions on which tires I should get before I mess up and get the wrong ones. I recently picked up some Nex-O PX5's, 18"x7.5". I am running KYB GR-2's on Tein stechs. Any advice on tire sizes would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking either 215\35\18 or 225\40\18. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

those look like jic something or other knockoffs.probably have really bad fitment and will be super sunken.

may as well put a big tire on there then.

You will need about a 30mm spacer to make them look flush, Un-less you like the sunken wheel look . Falcon Rt-615 (size 225 wide) is the tire you should get for maximum dry street grip.

What are your plans for the car? If it's not seeing the track anytime in the near future, I would say that the 615's are an overkill for most cars. Not to mention that the mileage will suck and you will come and blame us for recommending them in the first place.

Well, The car is not a daily anymore. I mainly drive it on the weekends or to work a couple times a week. Most likely not going to see the track in the near future. Like I said, Im just looking for suggestions or pros/cons on what I should use with these wheels. What is your reason for stating that the 615's are overkill and that the mileage will suck? Just curious, these are the types of things I am looking to learn about before I decide to buy rubber or sell the wheels for something else. Thanks Again!!

P.S. I take responsibility for my own actions and try to learn as much as I can before making a 400-500 dollar decision. Thus, you will most likely NOT see me coming back crying and playing the blame game for something like this.

The 615's are great, don't get me wrong, but they are extreme performance whatever summer tires (very sticky). I hear they do not like the wet, or the cold, and most definitely not the snow (not sure if you have to deal with that). The treadwear is probably around 160-200 (too lazy to look) which will get you less than 15k miles. There are plenty of other tires that will handle excellent in most conditions (again, probably not snow), and will net you 25k miles and up for around the same, if not better prices.

Shop around, read some reviews, and let us know what you pick.

I love being able to spin the tires in 4th gear any time the temp drops below 50 degrees.

IIRC the treadwear is 220. Very low, but if you treat them right they will last longer than most people expect. My current set will be down around 2 32nds around teh 18,000 mile mark.

They do not do well in the wet.

I said rt-615 for max dry grip because a 7 1/2 wide wheel is not going to allow for some fat rubber.

Update! I finally picked up some rubber from eBay, 225/40/18 off brand tires(275.00 for all 4 shipped). I haven't mounted the tires to the wheels yet as I am looking into getting some spacers. I want to make sure I have everything I need to do this right. The offset on these wheels is a horrible +45 so I am just wondering what size spacers (and bolts) I need to look into?

I understand that the *sweet spot is around +15, anyone else agree with this?

Am I going to be inducing stress on my hubs with a spacer that big? I was thinking about getting maybe a 15mm for the front , and 20 mm for the rear. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for the replies.

The offset sweet spot is the widest stance possible. That's why people use widebody kits. The farther the wheel is offset from the hub the more stress you put on the hub. The 350z uses coil spring separate from the shock to take some of the load off the hub the way it is designed. I run a 25mm ibach spacer's with AVS model 6 17x7 f 17x8 r w/ 35+ off set wheels. That brings the offset to +10. I needed a small fender roll. I wanted new tires so I got 4 new 235/45/17 LINGLONG china crap tires for $45 a piece. For a little more money I could of got something decent. I will never waist money on crap tires again unless I'm using them for drifting. Powered by max Is probably the best bang for your buck spacer.

good choice on the 225'shere is what mines looke like with 235/40/17x8 to give you an idea of how sweet it will sit on the wheel, your 225's on 7.5 should be the same

Pics!! I think it looks good, dispite the weak offset. Looking into some spacers but I dont want to go too big, maybe 15mm in front, 25 in the rear, IDK.
