so as the title says I have 17x9 +35 all the way around going on my 1990 240sx. and would like recommendations on tire sizes. Ive been told 215 45 17 all the way to 245 40 17 and because of this difference in previous recommendations Ifelt the need to post this. I have read the FAQ's and searched but havent found anything for my setup. I am on stock suspension right now but will soon be adding Apexi N1 coilovers. So I would like tires that will will good and fit after the addition of the coilovers. And Im hoping I only need a fender roll, not a pull. Thanks in advance for the help. -John

245 will look square on 9 inch rim. 235 will have slight stertched look. Don't go for 215 and 225. They won't look good.

youll need a 15mm spacer up front to clear coilovers, then run a 235 or 245

Get the spacers from here. They come with longer studs.

I run 275/40/17 on that size in the rear... no spacer.

My fronts are narrower, so that won't help ya.

So I can run up to 275/40 tires on the rear of my 240SX as long as I use +35 rims? Do those go out flush with the fender? Fixing to buy some new rims & tires and it's mind-boggling trying to make sense of all the post on this site concerning wheels, tires and spacers.

So many different opinions leaves you unsure of what really works and what's the best route to take... I've currently got ICW Talon 17x7's (+40) with 205/40's at all 4 corners.

Would really like to run rear tires that are out flush with the top of the rear fender lip(or close to it). So I need rims with a +35 offset to accomplish this?

What is the widest tire I can safely run on a 7" rim?
