I seen a lot of 240SX's without tinted windows lately (specially JDM ones)......whats the latest trend????

I really need some in my car....pretty hot around here. But undecided about if they will look right.....

get them done porfessionally, dont get that RETARED kinda with the mulitcolored tops and bottoms (champion or something like that) and just go for a light, smoked look....it'll barely be noticeable, and if anything look like a factory option and will keep you much cooler

who cares?....don't ever mod YOUR car the way someone else did, or whatever is popular, the whole point of modding a car is being unique, allot of people lost that
k6kicker wrote:get them done porfessionally,
I second that,

For the alti, I got bronze limo 5%, from the inside it matches the interior, from the outside, it looks black/smoked.

who gives a damn if its a trend or what other people think. Tinting your windows lowers temperatures inside your car in the summer and makes the ride that much more enjoyable.

If you tint your windows solely for asthetic purposes, then you suck at life.

I've always got mine professionally done. Here are my old WRX and GTI.

Don't have tinted windows in the 240 yet. Not sure if I'm gonna do it. I would like to note that it aids in helping your interior last also. It's amazing how much it helps the temp inside, it really works!

Tint is next on my list after shocks, tires and brakes. It's getting freakin hot out here in southern California.

I'd say sleep it out and just deck it with black trash bags :pface

Tints hot though, I hear it's hard to see through at night though is that true or not?

For all of you guys who got professional jobs, here is the big question, how much did you pay? My cousin was looking into getting his mustang tinted, but then discovered that legally you can only go 50% here in ohio(or something like that), they qouted $160 at one place and $180 or so at another.

For the cars you see above, I paid $250 each for 5 windows done. That was in Cali, so it should be cheaper elsewhere.

wow for a second there i thought you meant $250 each window! lol that'd be ridiculous. Anyway are you familiar with the laws regarding window tinting in Cali? do you know which windows are legal to tint and to what %?

your cars are really nice btw!

i know youre not supposed to tint the front PERIOD. but my friend did a light tint all around, so it doesnt really look like the front is tinted... its goes together smoothly if that makes any sense

I think the real heavy tinits arent as "in" as they used to be..

Even so it all depedns on your local sub-culture and weather.

I had fairly heavy tint (professionally done for Doctor previous owner) but I felt it restricted my vision at night too much especoially when backing up in a unlit environment (Couldnt see a thing).

I had it all removed and the very light Infiniti bronze tint came out.Looks great and I love the airy feel it gives the car.

Fred...:)

i had 20% and then got it removed and put on 12%. i am probably going to do a 20% on the windows and a 50% on the nissan when i get around to it. my friend has a tint shop and we use metallic tint that gives it a nice shiny look to it from the outside.

hey i got a question...(sorry for the thread jack) but...what if i get my windows tinted non-professionally? i had my tint in my old car for about 4 years and i got it done at a swap meet....no problems at all.....so i guess its cool right? oh...and it was 60$ all around...even though they used cheap stuff but it didnt come off or get those air bubbles....

i got air bubbles on my rear windshield and i cant see crap back there day or night so im planning on having it removed. Although rather then having to pay the shop to take it off im gunna take the tint of myself.

What worrys me though is will the metal lines peel off along with the tint ?Should I just let the shop handle it (in case it does peel off, then they have to replace >= D) ?

Oh and as for tint..id probably go with 5% like nissans rule's hatch...what brand is that btw ?
