Northern NJ (Bergen County) cops WILL give you a ticket for ANY and ALL front tints. My friends constantly get tickets. If you're nice enough to the cop though, they'll just let you go with a warning. Prime reason why I'm weary of even getting "legal" back tints.

I had a letter from my eye doctor in my glove box and showed it to the cop when I got pulled over in PA (35 windshield, 20 the rest of the way) and he just laughed. I knew it wouldnt work but figured it was worth a shot. Said the windshield tint helped with the glare and such. Know what they will tell you? Wear sun glasses. A letter from a doctor is not higher than the law. Although it would be nice if it worked that way ha.
