Round trip from SF to GA will be closer to $900.

Hands down, I would ship it to Jerry Tucker. It would be a shame if it cratered on the way down.

i've owned my 90Q for about a year and a half, got the guides done immediatly when i bought it, and it drove perfect on the ride to the shop, only to find out that the drivers side guide was in pieces sitting in the oil pan!!! talk about borrowed time!!! it had around 110k miles at the time. there was NO indication that the guide was toast and you'll never (without looking) until the chain jumps and you destroy you're engine. your guides could be gone right now. as the chains age and stretch, your chances of them slipping are getting very good.

Depends on the shop. Slipped timing is the risk an honest, competent shop takes. If it slips, they fix it and you get a valve cover resealed for free. A shady shop might tell you *your* car jumped time while in their possession, and *you* need to pay more to have the job done right. J Tucker might not have quite as much chain guide experience, but they do work on quite a few and are a stand-up place from what I read.

T3 doesn't accept shipped in cars for service. Sure we allow the driver to unload them off a flat bed but the owners have to show up before we start work.

The owner has to be with the car!We already have too many junked Q where we did serious work and the owner just left [abandoned] the cars. Not to say anyone here would do that, especially after shipping but...........we like to have owners there to discuss [and see] other problems we might find.

Plus a signature is required on the work order and credit cards.

Have Jerry do the guide job. Impossible to warranty work across the country.
