You know, I looked around and did not like the "smokin deals" I found. Rims < $600 were pretty much scratched up or had some damage. The best deal I saw was Mikes when he sold them off his Sedan. I eventually said "screw it" and bought a brand new set. These rims are made by the OEM who made the Infiniti rims, yet sold seperately and cheaper than Infiniti sells them for (realize that this style rim is no longer used by Infiniti). I think with shipping they were around $610 total and include generic center caps so I don't have to try and color match my Nissan caps

I will hopefully have them installed later this week or weekend....

Nice Rims. Post pics when you install them. We are getting some Volk Racing 19s for my son's G35 and I was thinking of putting his stock 18x8 on my I35 sport. Even though they are rear wheel drive rims they still fit our front wheel drive cars. If anyone has G35 18" rims on their I35 or Max, Please post some pics.

Man, my luck SUX

ok...Went yesterday for the install. I did not have my hex-key for removing the lock lugs but Nissan (who lost the key in the first place) had been able to get them off before. The tire shop could not get them off without destroying the rims. So, I went home and tried finding my lock set information and that was a no-go as well. Called the shop I got them from and they said to come by to see if one of their spare keys fit. If not, I was SOL

Wonderful

Today, drive way out there and I got lucky, they had one that fit. $10 later I was on my way back to the tire shop. My luck has changed!!!

or has it....

Tire shop pulls the car in. I wait. Looks like the key works. GREAT!!!I sit down and pop open a magazine. Time passes and the guy working on my car tells the counter guy my rims don't fit

So, I go out there and sure enough, the G rims I have do not fit the Maxima hub. I'm like WTF???? A call to Greg (AZhitman) confirmed that Nissan/Infiniti use standard hubs across 99% of their products so the damn rims have the wrong hub-centric opening cut. So, after calls to the OEM wheel provider I have the new tires put on the old rims.

I learned the following:1. Car does not have a shimmy anymore with the new tires2. Car is quiet as hell now (no more horrible road noise)3. Rims are actually not warped, problem was tires all along4. One of the rears was about to blow anyway

As far as the G35 rims, I am waiting for the OEM to call me back. Seems the hub-centric opening is around 63mm instead of 66.1 that it should be (they actually verified the size should be 66.1 as well). What they are trying to do is track down a local shop that can fix them for me at their expense, which is fine. The tire shop will charge me relatively little for the swap since I am a long time customer.

So, I have new tires and found out my current rims are not bent. BUT, I still have them on instead of the G rims. Wonder what the next little bad-luck issue is going to be.....

will a small spacer solve the problem? It will pull the wheel away from the hub. I had that problem while in Japan. I put Toyota rims on my Prelude and had to use spacer, because I had the same problem.

These are already 30mm. I don't want to make it less than that. These are hub-centric rims so they are supposed to fit perfectly.

Well, took the rims to be checked and the hubs to be bored to spec. The rim center bore came out to be 66.1mm (maximum 1 thousandth off), so they looked OK. WTF?

So, today I yank of a rim and start cleaning the hub. The rim still would not slide on. I even put three lugs on it and tightened it down to try and score the aluminum to see how far off it is. At this point, I had only been checking one rim just in case I had to send them back, so I went ahead and tried the other three. Wouldn't you know it, the other three fit!!! The only one that does not fit happens to be the one I was testing with, so I only have to work at getting this one to fit appropriately. Still a pain in the azz tho. The one rim that does not fit is soooooooo close it is pathetic.

The rims are gonna look GOOD once installed tho, altho 30mm front is gonna look different.

Look great! Fit under the fenders just right. Do you have any clearance problems? You might want to have your fender lip rolled. It will prevent cutting your tires when it rubs. I had my fenders rolled on my VW before I dropped it.

If it does rub any on the back it would be the top hitting the platic inner-fender, not the metal. The suspension is pretty stiff anyway so I hope I don't have any issues. I'll find out soon enough.

At times they look OK. Other times they look kinda funky. From a classy-sporty perspective, I think these G35 18's own all other factory rim sets.

ahhhhh....

Well, update time......

Seems these do scrub just a bit. With Eibach springs, 100lb of stereo equipment right over the rear beam suspension and these rims with 245-40-18's, the fender lip will catch them just a bit on the rear passenger side. They may have been ok with 235-40-18's but I wanted a bit more sidewall. At this point I have pulled the stereo equipment out and it does not seem to scrub but I won't know fully until I can take a ride with someone sitting in the back.

so are you going to get your fenders rolled? I know you aint going to keep the stereo stuff out... I just got 20 mm spacers for my rears and just the passenger side rubs (when I have folks sit in the back) .. Let me know if you figure something out cheap cause I dont wanna be the guy that rides with chipped and cracked fenders..hehe..
