Worse-case is I leave the stereo out but I would probably still have rubbing problems if someone sits in the back. At this point, I will probably borrow a fender roller and get the lip out of the way. I probably only need 2mm for full clearance. Increasing my shocks from a level-2 to level-4 may help as well.

Nice. Looks good!

+30mm is a bit close, +35mm would probably be perfect. +30mm is actually perfect for 3rd gens, not 4th or 5th gens. Oh well, looks good!

Thanks. Unfortunately (depends on your outlook) I leave for vacation in the morning and won't be back until Monday. I hope to do something about it one weekend after that.

Guess I need to borrow a fender roller.....

hey bro, i'm runnin 225/40's, i hate the way they look on there. i love how yours are flush. what size tires are you runnin? i was thinking of 235s, but not sure. i have seen lots of people with rubbing probs after putting on spacers and aftermarket wheels. whats the deal? i put my cheapo trans dapt 7/16" spacers on the rear and i'm perfectly happy with the space, no rub issues. oh well, looks amazing matt.

Matt, are you sure it's the fender lip (only) causing the rubbing?

I had my rears rolled (to make a long story short, make sure you find someone who can do it the RIGHT way) and still had a little rubbing. I found that the tire was rubbing the "tab" where the fender (metal) met the bumper (plastic). I used an angle grinder to gain a little more clearance and it helped a LOT.

That said though, with my box and amps and sub in the trunk I still had a problem with the car rubbing on large expansion joints (and with luggage in the trunk). That problem was ultimately solved when I swapped the rear H-Tech springs for stock SE springs..

Looks like a strong type of wheel,i think its a good idea to match it with quality nissan maxima parts so the car is worth having.

245-40-18's. Perfect match to the factory 225-50-17's per tire calcs. My previous tires were 235's and seemed too "small" IMO.

I _think_ it is the lip, but will look again. I was in a major time crunch and other than jacking up the car and looking I did not do much else. I should have more time this coming weekend to validate it is the fender lip and not something else. Thanks for the tip

Not sure what you are saying or trying to link to. We have plenty of our own Nissan sponsors that sell factory parts. The wheels themselves are made by the original OEM and are the same as the Infiniti G35's.

I just took a look at this guys (raymundojr) other post. Every one of them has the same type of spam link in it. So I googled his id and it's the same on many car forums. Some of them have banned him for the spamming. None of the post that I saw contributed anything to the topic being discussed. What was the solution for getting the 4th rim to fit?

Yeah, he is gone for now.

The rim seemed to have a slight lip in the hub section that made it where it would not mount. I simply used my drill with one of those round metal brushes to smooth the edge and it fit like a champ. Only took a couple minutes to do.
