I can't stand the Montego's (and all other late-model Merc's) glued-on bought-from-pep-boys chrome "accents." It cheapens the look of the car in a monumental way.

That is an AWESOME deal on that Saab man! I would've jumped all over that one!

What the fook are you talking about MoD?

Almost every bit of trim on the Montego is satin nickel finish and it has very little unpainted trim. You couldn't even get chrome wheels on them as an option, they only came with painted wheels like my car and brushed aluminum wheels. The only chrome that comes to mind is the thin strips on the taillights, but that's the only chrome added over the Five Hundred.

Now that being said, I prefer the styling of the Five Hundred a little more now. I feel like the Montego looks like something a former Grand Marquis owner would drive, which oddly enough is mainly who we sold them to when I sold them. Still a nice car though for the money.

You posted the least ugly end.

Those tail lights are terrible. Though not as bad as I was thinking. I guess my brain combined the Montego and Milan into one.

Ah, that would make sense then. The Milan tails are ugly as sin. You may also be thinking of the Sable that came after the Montego too, because it had all chrome tails.

THAT'S what I was thinking of. This disastrous mess of a Sable (not to imply that other Sables were undisastrous).

Not as bad as the Mariner, though.
