Hey, I'd love to hear your take on a few things in here.drifters2it_sideways wrote: i am a cop...

That is completely ridiculous. So now they can fine you more for choosing to defend yourself. You should get the ACLU to fight that shlt.
i wanted to be a Criminal Justice Researcher, I finished the program, but got aggrivated during my upper level courses. I have almost no faith in our justice system...the sad thing is that I know there are law enforcement officers who dont either.drifters2it_sideways wrote: i am a cop...
I think that the fine increase is to do exactly what you say, discourage people from showin up. give us your $$$ and get your points and F-off. Rehabilitative my ars.thomasjamal wrote:
And is it a normal practice where you work for a person's fine to increase because they went to court? This just seems like it would be intended to discourage people from going to court.
I'd also love to hear what you think would be a typical punishment for drifting where you work, assuming someone has a relatively clean driving record.
and I just noticed you are in Cali.....Pleeeeeeeeeeassse say something I want to hear what your views are?drifters2it_sideways wrote: i am a cop...
Well that was worthless.drifters2it_sideways wrote: ok im not a cop.....
Okay, what in the hell was that... I can never trust you again cause you just straight lied...drifters2it_sideways wrote: ok im not a cop.....
but my brother in law is... he grew up in s.cali all his life... hes the same age as me... hes a cop in Vegas now. He also had a s13 w/SR20DET but had to sell it because of the cop thing too much time to mess with it using it on the track n stuff...so he got rid of it..
ya i said the same thing about getting a break because the officer wrote it worng but i did speack with the officer before i left that day he said he would help me out because i did show up at the court date. he gave me his number to call him as soon as i get a court date so hopfully hes a cool stand up guy.thomasjamal wrote:If I were you I would check back about the court date.
Don't think that being lost in the system for a little while will help you. They will eventually find it and the longer you slide by the less sympathetic the judge will be.
It could also be more detrimental in your future to loose your license than it is now.
As much as it seems like you should get a break for the officer writing it wrong you won't.
Well good luck with that, I hope it works out. If the cop is willing to shop up and ask for lenience then you have a good chance.b--ryan wrote:i did speack with the officer before i left that day he said he would help me out because i did show up at the court date
I think being arrested is a little extreme and a felony is probably not called for either but do keep in mind that you were breaking the law.lucky70400 wrote:I was arrested for drifting in april. Got:1. Wreckless driving2. Speeding3. Going off the road4. Illegal lane changes
and two tickets that aren't related, one was a felony
sucked ***......... **** cops
Actually the cop was a complete as$whole. He was in my face the whole time. After he arrested me, he said "You think you're a bada$$ driving your ugly POS like that?" (I had a brand new G35 coupe). I responded, "You think you're a bada$$ hiding behind your gun and badge like a little pu$$y?"thomasjamal wrote:

What kind of fines/penalties did you end up with?
Well I can feel you on that but at least remember that there are good cops and bad cops. From what this guy said he was the type of cop who is a cop because he likes having power. But don't forget that there are good cops who are cops because they want to help people.lucky70400 wrote:I mean this from the bottom of my heart when I say "f*** the police"
The ones that pulled me over were the most respectful police I have ever run across. they never raised their voices, they didnt treat me like a convict, so they actually get honorable mention for me.lucky70400 wrote:

He definitely showed up to court but I know some people and had to only pay a $200 fine.
I mean this from the bottom of my heart when I say "f*** the police"
haha, that's ****in sick. I actually got pulled over just this last friday. I was going back to my parents house in San Jose from Sacramento at 3 am cause I have school til 2 am. I stopped off in San Ramon to get some gas and on my way back to the freeway I I took a turn pretty hard and got a little sideways. Right after I straighten out I look up ahead and see a cop stopped at a red light facing towards me right next to the freeway on ramp. I already knew he was going to pull me over so I just stopped on the freeway on ramp and waited for him to come up. He came up to my door and said "looked like you were getting a little squirly back there." I just got my 240 a couple weeks ago so I tell him that I wasn't use to the car yet because I just got it. he says "so you floor it through turns?" and I say that my old car would have been fine. He asks for my license and registration. I hadn't transfered my name over yet cause I just got the car so I didn't have registration or insurnace cards with me in the car (I do have esurance though which I told the officer about). So he walks back to his car and I'm just sitting there waiting for a few minutes. He comes back and says "have a good night, take it easy." I said thanks and told him to take it easy too, then I went home. I was definitely lucky, but cops like that are so sick, I wish they were all like that.Justin Duncklee wrote:Just to put in my own story.
I got pulled over after drifting in a development that was being built. It was a girl cop (blonde & HOTT) and it was night, so she had her spotlight on me, and was like "put your hands outside the door and open it" I was like? WTF?? soo I got out and had my hands in my pocket, and she put her hand on her gun and was yelled at me to get my hands out.... Then she was like.. Why is your car still running? and I was like.. Turbo timer, it will go off. Sooooo.. after getting a lil talking too, she called my mom... And the convo went like this:
Mom" hello?Cop" Hi this is the marian county police, we have your son in custody for illegal street driftingMom" oh?Cop " did you know about this?Mom" Yeah, we told him he could, is that a problem?Cop.. WHAT!!*hangs up phone.
Then she told me to keep practicing, but just do it in a safer place... and then she saw my guages and was like... what are those guages for? and I was like.. uhhhh nothing??? and she's like.. Kid, this ain't no honda? what do you have under the hood? SR? RB what?? And I was like... SWEET!! So we talked about 240's for a while....
and I got off with nothing... Awesome cop.. She was freakin cool
