This poor Vette

Passed this just south of Cincy this morning. Looks to have a Lincoln-style boot on the back with a peaked opera-style rear window and all the fenders are extremely peaked. Rims look to be about 22's, Pics suck as it was foggy out......

1. It WAS a C3. Now it is Frankenstein. 2. My friend's dad has one with a 350 swap in it, putting down about 325 horses.

The first few years of the C3 were still hot stuff. But by the mid-70s it was gutless like everything else and by the 80s it was even MORE gutless...and there were even C3s in the 80s that could not be had with a manual transmission. I love the C3 when it comes to looks, but 180hp from 5.7 liters is not in my book of "things not to make fun of."

I conquer. My grandpa had a blue 1971 Corvette convertible. Last year of the high-comp engines. The C3 was on life support after '72, and it died by the end of the '70's. Even the early C4's weren't great (they had a stupid transmission) but once they got rid of it (like '89ish?) they were back to being great.

I think late 70's thru mid-80's Vette's can be had for such a good deal. Small block Chevy's are so simple to build, and not expensive either. I would LOVE to own a Corvette for under 10k.

That thing is a disgrace! And screw you guys and your C3 knocking! Yeah my '82 isn't the fastest thing on the road but it's beautiful and sounds amazing. I debated an engine swap and upgrading to Z06 brakes but since everything is original I'm going to keep it that way.

My Dad used to have a '68 that needed lead weights in the back, without them it wouldn't hookup. Crazy power back in those days. I've got a 24' boat that's got an engine from a '68 Interceptor(cop car) Chrysler 440 putting out 550hp+. It's just not the same now, even though that was before my time.

I never liked that body style at all. Doesn't hurt my feelings either way.

To each their own, but honestly I've never heard anyone say that before.

My dad has a '69 Chevelle SS 396 that he bought new. It's sitting in decent shape inside the barn right now but I still remember riding around in it when I was 4 or 5 years old back in the '80s. Talk about fun. There WILL be full restoration in the future. And it WILL be immaculate.
