Looking for a bike!

Post

Alright here is goes Me-93 S13, Manifold back exhaust, KN filter, Stripped Interior. Him-96 RS eclipse with turbo kit. Im taking my car to the track this thursday to get my 60's down hopefully cut a 2.0. An also get my shift points right. Last time I was at the track runnin stock with exhaust disconnected after that cat I ran a 15.5. His personal best is a 14.5, I dont know what he runs consistant. Well we did a lil roll tonite to get a feel an he only had me by a car car an half. So Im hopin I will be able to make that up off the launch. Ill let you guys kno how my track times go thursday, then Ill fill you in on the results after saturday nite.

well what do you expect its a turbo, an im a pretty much stock 240. Yes it is a long shot but I have a chance if he screws up the launch or shifting.

hmm well, bottom line is you will lose. I dont mean to be optomistic but i raced my buddy in his 96 eclipse GS-T.

I beat him all the way through mid 3rd gear then he ate me up once the turbo got spooling beyond that point. He only had exhaust at the time, and intake, same as me -- no biggy mods.

im gonna make this simple. an almost stock 240sx will basically beat " NOTHING!" these cars are slow. they handle great, look nice, very reliable, but have no power.

i raced a 98 gst with exhaust from a 40 puch and it was dead even till about 105when we stopped. I think from a stop id win cause of the rwd.

it'l beat a lot of n/a cars such as a eclipse rs/gs long as the mods are minimal. why race a turbo'd vehicle with a nearly stock car? all you can do is hope he screws up and it will have to be a damn big screw up or a engine failure for him to lose.

well hes a bad driver then. seriously, you will not beat or come close to a gst. it is turbocharged. ka has tourque with no pull in the high end. sorry bro it just isnt gonna happen.

Ive already beaten 3 turbo VW's already, my car is in the low 15's, an on the street reaction time comes into play unlike on the track. Yea 3rd gear is what Im worried about, as long as I get a big enough jump off the line its should be somewhat close. But I got about 10% chance of winning. But o well its bout time I actually raced something thats challenging.

maybe if you fill up with a gallon of 116 and get a perfect launch and lose a few pounds. seriously you might just be wasting gas if he was a car and a half ahead at 105 you're probably not gonna make that up thats at least a half a second....so good luck on winning but hey racing is always fun regardless of losing.

lower your rear tires' psi to like 20-22 and launch like a mofo.

But like everyone else says he's going to put a hurtin on you. Just wait till 3rd gear? You won't even have to wait that long for boost to lower its fatal swing.

Right now his time is a full second faster than you. unless he tries to start in second gear he'll beat you. a full second is a lot of time to try and bridge the gap.

I know when I was at the track and beat a modded stang by what looked to be a large margin, it was only by .6 seconds. (this was in my TA :) )

EDIT: i just seen the added mods in the initial post....if you're running 15.5 stock then what you added still won't get you sub 15 I don't think.

BUT-the margin for error has just got closer, its your lanch that can be the tell tale of this event, get your 60 foots down and speed shift like a raped ape. I still think he'll win, best of luck.

Only ALL 5th & 6th gen celica's, and 7th gens minus the GTS(depends on mods)Only most civicsOnly any NA talon/eclipse (not sure about the new V6's though)acura integra RS & GScavalier, malibu, s10, dodge avenger, most neon's, spirit's, Lebarons, 4 clyinder countour's, escort's, focus's (not SVT's), probe's, tempo's, 4 cylinder accords, ever CRX i've raced, any kia i've seen, mazda mx3 & mazda mx6, 626, protege, topaz, galant, mirage, 200sx, nx, grand am, sunfire, sunbirds, and saturn i've raced, older mr2's NA (the 3S engine), some jetta's, golf's,

I think i've myself or seen someone race each of these, and most of them weren't stock

It's not quick stock, no, but it can still hold it's own!

Buy a nitrous system, put in a 50 shot... then place a bet for 500 dollars. After you win, you will have made up for the price of nitrous, and you'll have an extra little goodie to play with :)

Im goin to brandenton thursday nite. I have a slim shot I know because of his 3rd gear. But when we did a roll he had the jump an i was next to him till 3rd then he started to pull, so hopefully Ill be able to make up that margin on the launch. Hes only right now bout a .5 seconds faster than me on the track. Now reaction time comes into play on the street...If i say cut a .600 an he hit a .900 then my 60 foot was 2.1 an his was 2.3 theres .5 seconds. I have a slim shot but it is possible, Ill keep you posted.
