Ask any racer, any real racer. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile; winning's winning. You never had me, you never had your car.

Dude were you there? I didn't know you were watching the race from Orlando. You must have some big binoculars.

Anyways It was from a 40 punch both of us started in second and it was dead even until 105. But you don't have to believe me i know what happened and i cant prove it with video but it did happen

It's not quick stock, no, but it can still hold it's own!

I just beat a V6 Eclipse today on the highway. He had intake/exhaust.....I have Apexi N1 single and Injen intake. '96 240 5speed SE full optioned. Someone said something about these cars not having any top-end. My car likes to rev high more than it does for me to short-shift. Has alot to do with what exhaust set-up you use and how the car is tuned. My car also makes more power by running 89 octane. You shouldn't run high octane with stock timing on a stock N/A KA, no need for it and it will most likely hurt you.....unless you use race fuel which is more oxygen rich than pump gas and may help you some (until the lead fouls out the o2 and you have to buy a new one)

How does your engine make more power using lower octane gas? The difference in how fast it burns is neglible in a near stock car. Did you dyno it with 93 then 89?

Also the owners manual says to use 91 octane for the 95+ 240sx.

Using stock timing, 89 octane gives the car a leaner burn b/c it burns faster than 93 which, in turn, slightly advances ignition timing. Running 93 would slightly retard it b/c it burns slower. Should I go deeper into the subject or did that answer your question?? The manual also says that the engine runs at optimum performance when a slight spark knock is heard under heavy engine loads such as going up a very steep hill at low RPM, which is true b/c that means ignition timing is at optimum. Does a T88 make a stock KA faster than a T3/4?? Bigger and more is not always better.

hell yea more power to the 240! haha. Stock yes the 240 falls short, but if you open up the restrictive intake an exhaust your lookin at a low 15 second car.

I beat a gst with a 97' hx civic with an si engine, intake and full exhaust. The civic runs about 15 flat in the quarter. We raced for about 40 miles on I-95 headed to miami. The gst just couldn't pull as hard as the civic from about 60 to 130 mph. It was funny because he was picking on another civic that was riced out. Then we busted his and the other civics *** with the primered black civic. I was very dissappointed because I was thinking of getting one. Remember, gst's wiegh a lot more than a 240sx, but with only about 50 more HP. :D

a car and a half, about 25-30 ft or so, at 105mph, and u say thats .5 sec...

if it takes u a full half a second to go 25 ft at 105mph then something just went wrong with physics, try like .2-.3 seconds.

but back to the topic, gst's are slow as hell, i kept up with one in my old 00' civic si that had basic mods up until about 90 or so when we both backed off.

more like .15 seconds. on an average car that runs slower than 12 sec. 1/4 , it averages out to about .1 sec. per car length. That's a well known way to get a guesstimate for a lot of racers.

the only thing i beat legit that i care to remember was an SI, not the newest, the more popular body style. anyway, have fun at the track, n/a ownz!

Alright went to the track, it be cooled down I thought Id run some pretty good times but no1 could get good 60's. For instance an SR with drag radials couldnt get better than a 2.3, Supercharged civic couldnt beat a 2.4, an 11 second trans am who normally hits 1.6's couldnt beat a 2.2. But here are my timesR/T .54360' 2.398330 6.6511/8 10.074MPH 71.871000 13.0371/4 15.505MPH 90.47If it were possible to get good 60's I shouldve been close to a 15.1-15.2.

no idea but im gonna lower it down to 20psi for the street too, an see whats the best rpm to launch at. With 30psi I normally launch at 23-2500rpms an get great launches on the street.
