My oil pan is leaking because the tread in my block for a bolt is stripped,

whats the diameter and tread size for an oil pan bolt.

I need a tapping tool to retap that hole and I need on that is the right size

It is either 4 or 6 mm and IIRC the thread pitch is fine.

I would reccomend ordering a magnetic drain plug, you can probably pick one up for less than $20.

The block is made of aluminum, a magnet wont do any good.

fine thread - coolother fine bolts have tread count 1.25 so I can assume its the same

what tool can I use to bore out the thread again.there is a liquid solution but it seems shady

Im going to look around

Use a tap and helicoil.
