I've driven a production race modified verison of one of these, running on avgas with some stupidly high compression, for a couple of laps around a track.
It was easier to steer the car with my right foot than the steering wheel.

Never have I been in a car that gave more feedback and confidence at speed.
It is the driver's car. If you wanted a pure oldschool thrasher, that's it. A Group B rally driver I know told me it was the only car apart from a Ford Escort (the old RWD version!) that he could ever slide at 90 degrees and still recover.
They're not just popular because of Initial D.:rolleyes There's lots and lots of people into these cars. They just rarely make any sort of deal about it.
