I'm gonna go sometime this month for just a weekend get away but was wondering if anybody lives out that way that could give me some recommendations on what i could check out while in town for two or three days...(wow, long sentence, perhaps a run-on, lol)
p.s. i'll be taking a lady friend of mine, so keep that in mind.
Well, much depends on your budget and what you're into. I guarantee it will suck if you attempt to navigate thru it in a car and do it on a shoe string budget. There are so many things to do and see there, it'd take pages to list them all. I grew up right across the river near the GW bridge. Here's a few off the top of my head,.traditional landmarks include Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, a laundry list of museums (like the Museum of Modern Art, Mus. of Natural History, the Guggenheim), Central Park, Chinatown, see a concert at Madison Square Garden, catch a broadway show, or catch an off broadway show, FAO Schwartz, visit Times Square, go across the Brooklyn Bridge, witness drug deals and stripped cars in the South Bronx

, catch a Yankee game in the Bronx, or a Mets game in Flushing, Rockaway Beach, window shop at Macy's, Saks, Bloomies, Tiffany's, visit the UN, ride the famous Staten Island Ferry, Greenwich Village, wake up early and visit Rockefeller Center, watch the Today show broadcast live, they regularly have live performances, you could ride the Circle Line, which is a fun mini-cruise around Manhattan. How's that.
