or maybe 245/40? remind me what you are running again? I'd like to not grow the tire height (even though closing the gap would look a bit nicer) due to taller effective gearing, (even)greater moment of inertia....

Rex- I'm not unappreicative that you have wheels for sale, and I'd love to help a NICO brother --it's just that wheels are a highly love it or hate it thing for me. not much middle ground. hope you understand.
I completely understand, finding the right wheels is less economy and more emotional for some.

I really want these Volk Racing AV3 17x8 +41, 17x9J +44 Silver center/Polish lip two piece built, a 90's classic, but I have to sell some wheels first.

In 18" to get as close to 26"OD you need to go w/255/40/18 or 235/45/18. I'm running 245/48/18 and I do feel lag off the line - I'm sure due to both that I'm at 26.7" OD and the added weight of the rims. Jay - you can't beat the look of an 18" rim but you do give up some ride. If going 18 I would err on having more sidewall less. It also IMO looks much better than to have too short of a sidewall - I've seen it before and it makes the rim/wheel setup look undersized. Especially if you are not lowering.

Are you going to put these new rims on the G50? If you are still thinking of adding new rims to the Y33 - I'd take a hard look at Falk's car and follow suite. His is the only Y33 that I think looks on par (maybe dare I say, even better?) than a G50!!!! Even when he was running 18" rims!

Doing the PS2 255/40-18 which is very sweet, but not inexpensive.

Wouldn't go less than 8.5" wheel width at that aspect ratio. 9" works great.

Come on! you HONESTLY think youll be able to feel a 3% difference in tire height (26.7/26.1)... YEAH RIGHT! Aint gonna happen... You probably would barely feel 10% (30HP)..... The added weight of wheels will add much more drag than even 10% change in tire size...

Run the 245-45 and be done with it... 245-40 is under load rating, but if you run a really good one, you might be "close enough"... Close enough doesnt count at the limit though, however I doubt many Q owners drive their Q at the true limit... As long as you dont keep the tires too long, you would probably be ok... Kinda hard to say, but the 245-45 is probably a cheaper and better alternative anyway.....

255 is just about right for an 8.5 wheel though

8in 40mm would work.
+40 on 8.0 seems close to the limit, how much margin? enough to go with a 17X8 +42 (BBS RK)? 18's are seeming like a pain....

Thats kinda close Jay, im not sure...... Your inner clearance is going to be 16mm less than stock (assuming 6.5 with 45mm offset), which shoudl work..

yeah, 6.5 with +45 (stock BBS basketweaves)fy33 is 7.0 with +40.

I came up with 17mm closer, so we're consistent. eyeball on 3rd link looks like about 3/4" (~19mm) with stock setup. that was with wheel longitudinal, so turning will presumably lessen that. what do folks here think is prudent margin?

Sorry, I don't have a "set" of 18x8's? Are you referring to the Rays forged wheels that are 18x8 front and 18x8.5 rear?
