so ive been getting some quotes from some dealerships and it looks like i can get a fully loaded 08 3.5SE in Super Black for $28,000. I would be trading in my fully loaded 08 2.5SL for it that has $22,000 left on the loan. what do you guys think? i think i could probably get about $20,000 for my sedan with a trade in to the dealership. I might even be able to squeeze $22,000 out of them if i threaten to walk if they say theyll only give me $20,000. Im sure they wouldnt want extra money to be walking out the door.

Why not stick with the 2.5 and swap to the coupe... or just sit pretty in your sedan!

Use that extra $ for some mods!

whats even better is getting up in the middle of one of their sentences and heading towards the door without saying a word. youll never see them run so fast.

the reason why i want to change cars is because i settled when i bought my sedan, which is what i told myself i wouldnt do, and ive been regretting it ever since the day i left the dealership.

go for it man. I know what you mean. I settleed for an 07 Sentra SL, owned it for 7 months, needed to upgrade.

The thing you have to watch out for is, if you do trade in don't go thinking a year later that you settled for an a/c and now you need a G37 or something. buying a brand new car every year is really expensive.

yea....i dont think ill want another car for a while after the A/C....the reason i went with the sedan originally is because i was like man its stupid to only have 2 doors.....but then after having a sedan for a month i realized that i dont drive with people in my car as much as i thought i did. plus being being single now means that 90% of the time im the only one in my car, and the other 10% i only have 1 or 2 passengers. also when i was looking for a car i said i would get a V6, but i settled for a 4 banger with my sedan. My reasoning for settling for the 4 banger was that my insurance would be cheaper, spend less on gas, and the car itself would be cheaper. now im regretting not having those extra 2 cylinders and 1 more liter.

i dunno. i go to the dealership tomorrow for an oil change and my 7500 mile check up. ive already emailed back and forth with an internet sales manager there, and im going to talk with someone while im waiting for my car.

hey dood,,, the thing you need to be careful of is that they are trading you a 2008 coupe,,, for $28,000 they should be trading you a 2009 coupe. The 2008 model has already depreciated for a full year, look it up on kbb.com.

Do it man! I went to passport Nissan in Marlow Heights.. pretty long drive around the beltway, but they are relatively easy to bargain with, and aren't selling many of their 3.5s, especially in that area. You would definitely have the upperhand, but it's a long drawn out proccess. Stick to your guns and bring them down to invoice and any argue price cuts based on test driven miles, etc. Good luck!

Now is the best time to haggle prices for a new car. These dealerships are hurting big time. Nissan is the only car maker right now making a good profit, everyone else has serious drops in their sales forecasts. Do what other people suggest and get up and walk out if you're not happy. Come back the next day and be just as firm on your price and trust me, they'll do what they can to close the deal, so long as it's not a ludicrous offer.

End of the month (today) is also a great time to do business as they'll be extra motivated to make one more sale

well gas prices have dropped down a lot.. and yes they coulkd rise again, but meanwhile, I'm loving it now that I can put premium in my car for under $3.00 / gallon...

anyway, i may be one of the only people on this forum with both a 3.5 coupe and a 2.5 sedan, so I can speak from both worlds. My wife primarily drives the sedan, butr when I want/need more space, it definately comes in handy.. and you already know how big that trunk is.. what like 3/4 small bodies right! lol

but I digress, if you aren't concerned with trunk space, and squeezing passengers in the back, then I say go 3.5 coupe all the way. I would stay away from the tech package though and just get the premium package.... test drive the 3.5 and really feel the acceleration and highway speeds... changing lanes on the highway when you need to speed up quickly is the biggest downfall on the 2.5 That experience is night and day between the 2.5 ans 3.5

So again, if you don't have kids, and you aren't married I say go 3.5 coupe prem package all the way... or better yet, G37 coupe for an extra few grand!

Thanks for all the insight and info man. Tomorrow when i go into the dealership im just going to grab the info and numbers. I dont plan on driving away with a new coupe, but if the numbers are awesome....who knows. Oh and just as an FYI i got a quote from another dealership for $26,800 OTD. so now i can use that price to probably talk the dealership im going to deal with down to $26,000 for what i want.

Get the 3.5 coupe and switch spots with one of the sedans that havent sent theres yet. Then they can send yours to brandon for any minor changes and you will still have a spot. Just get them to pay the amount over the deposit and you should be about even. Plus that sedaner will have no down time and you can take there lights to make your sedan stock again.

I love my rear view camera. I don't know how I ever backed up without it before. lol Yes I am to lazy to turn my head. I always turn my head at first and look both ways, but then it's straight to the screen and my front. But I want the camera like my pops has on his m35. The lines turn with the car so you can see exactly what is in your path on a turn. Pure Sex

I've driven both, and the sedan's rear visibility sucks like monkey balls-you WILL bump into a car behind you eventually (unless you always park w/ a granny's pace). The Coupe on the other hand can do without the rear camera, plus its a bit shorter so its an easier fit... god i miss my civic since now i have to find parking in downtown Chicago two days a week.

I'm not gonna get back into why the tech package is overpriced for what you get... i've done that 1000 x over, and if anyone that has the tech package realized how much more you could get with that extra $2000, you'd probably change your tune...

bina, if you already have the tech package and want to get it again on your next car, then by all means do that... but for the same amount of money, I could put you a setup into your car that would absolutely put the tech package to shame in every way possible..... that's all I was trying to point out...

and yes, rear view cameras are amazing, I have one... and a tri zone DVD player/Nav unit with a built in 13 band EQ, with digital time alignment, USB input, IPOD interface and XM radio w/ NAv traffic, and it all costed less than $2000

I don't have tech/prem. and I'm fine with that. My D3 can do the bluetooth thing and reverse camera as well, all I need to do is add the camera.
