clean s30's are not cheap

most are either rotted or cut up and modded to hell

Well, whatever I decide, I won't sell it for any less. I absolutely won't sell the S13, just to fund the 240z project, if I can't get what I want out of it. So in that situation I would simply keep the S13 and wait to build the S30. I am in no rush, but when I want to do something, I do it. I absolutely would not sell it below $20k. Even at that price it would be hard to justify. Which is most likely why I would keep it. I didn't really start this thread for advice. Simply to see what others thought. Everyone on here knows that I don't care what anyone else thinks anyway!

I say keep it as your DD and wait a couple years to start up another project.

I agree with the statement somewhere above that said something about anyone listing their top 5 favorite S13s would have your car in it. Your car is awesome Broadfield and I have alot of respect for you for building it the way you have, I just wish I could have seen it in person.

Since your asking for opinions, I think you should keep it. Take your time buying the S30 and building it, then you can still enjoy your S13 while having a project on the side.

Whatever you choose, I cant wait to see what youve got in store.

My opinion is that of most of the others. If i had put half as much time/money/effort into a car as you have into this lucky S13, i would NEVER be able to sell it to someone i didn't personally know would take just as much care of it as i did. I would hate to think that it got wrapped around a pole after i had worked so hard to get it where it was, to keep it so nice and so clean while driving it every day. Your car is inspiration for many S13 owners, and even if you sold it to someone else it will always be remembered as 'Broadfield's Car'. Your S30 will be phenomenal i am sure but if i were you (oh the people i would kill to be you) i would NEVER let go of that car. Give it to your kids or nephews when you get old. Take it all apart and make them put it together. Lol. Even then i feel like there won't be the same level of appreciation for the car. Can't wait to see the Z!

keep it toby. i thought about selling my s14 and putting the money towards my s30. now my s14 is nowhere close to being on the same level as your coupe, but in the end, i knew i'd kick myself in the a** every time i thought about the fact that it was gone. it's a sentimental thing.

completely different cars. s-chassis cars are fun commuters. s30's are sports cars.

Would probably do a RB26, bolt on flares, a custom coilover setup, interior.... the whole shebang. Now is not a good time for me unless I sold the S13. However, if I wait a couple years I could probably keep the S13, buy a newer daily and a decent but stock 240z..... then start fabricating away. I figured this question would draw some good responses!
I almost went that route till i took my silvia out of storage this spring and went for a ride which changed my mind immediately!

personally the only thing i dont like about my s14 is the rattling inside and how it kills my back....and sometimes makes me think about sellling it,but i like it cause its unique.one day though when i cant take the pain in my back anymore, im gonna sell it...but until then im gonna be rockin the s14 kouki , making chicks panties drop =]

I personally think you should keep your s13 and give it to your kids, or your nephews, just keep it in the family. Your s13 build was so complete that you almost have a obligation not to sell it and to keep as inherithance to your kids or something.

At the same time i have no doubt you could get asking price for your car. i bet you could call barrett jackson auto auction and they would put the car right out on the auction block for their next event.

Also s30 are nice and a resto-modded s30 with a rb26 pushing over 500hp would be beast. And i think the S30 would garner you a lot more attention as a shop and restorer then the s13 ever has. Even though your car has been published and eye-screwed by every 240 fanboi, including myself. The S30 would gain you a lot more credibilty with more people and I think it would be way more popular with car enthusiats who are not neccesarily Nissan enthusiats.

Simply put a S30 build would put you on a whole higher level.

Keep the S13. You've invested so much in it. I'm sure you can find a 240z for cheap, do some awesome work on it and make this Z concept come true with a killer interior.or another beautiful rb26dett 240z

First off let me say that your silvia is my inspiration to persue perfection, I know I can only dream of building mine as beautiful as yours.

My own personal opinion would be not to sell. S30's come and go and I am sure you can find one later, but your silvia is definitely one of a kind.

Good luck with your decision, and I can't wait to see what kind of gem you will turn a lucky Z into.

Probably would be best to return your car as close to stock as possible, then part out the rest to make up some of the money you put in.

It would be pretty hard to squeeze someone for 20K for a modified s13.

As far as other projects have you considered stepping out of the Nissan family? How about restoring a air-cooled 911? or a lotus?

Funny you mention that, because initially I was set on building an early 80's 930 for my next project car...... which is obviously still a strong candidate.

I will not be selling the S13. I just made this thread to see what people thought about the idea. I never had any real intention of selling it.

I just picked up a 2004 Acura TL A-Spec as my winter/daily today. So now I am set to start looking for my next project vehicle.

Your attention to detail could bring a lot out of a 930 platform.

You would see much more of a performance and dollar return in a Porsche rather than a Nissan.

I am glad to hear that the silvia will not be sold, also congrats on the TL. Oh and about the 930 THAT WOULD BE SO SICK!!! Can't wait to see what you decide to build.

lol at the auction comments ya'll

i love the car as much as the next but outside of the 240 community no one would pay nearly what you have into it.

my advice?

look for a looong time for a z

look in cali or AZ and when u find a non runner go pick it up and store it till you can build it

non runners in states where rust isnt a factor can be had for 2k tops
