Initially, I was told I would owe the guy $750 for installation of the motor...then about $125 more for power steering, and now I'm going to owe the cost of a new battery...and maybe more. He said no more than $900 though...

Of course, he did give me a $400 clutch, about $500 of suspension parts, and he's making me an exhaust, but I have no idea how I'm going to have enough to pay him off...I'll be close, but even if I do pay him off, I still have tags/registration, emissions, and insurance to deal with.

I'm so stressed, especially having two jobs is starting to kick my @$$...

Oh, by the way, I have two weeks for tags and insurance...I officially bought the car on July 19th...

I'm so f-ed...:(

Just don't drive it til you can afford registration... I'm sure I can find a place for you to put it so your neighbors won't get mad or anything ;).

The title says it has to be done within 30 days of date of sale...if I take it in too late they'll fine me.

Fine vs selling the car... hmmmmmmmm...

I doubt they'll fine you that badly for a tardy registration.

It'll all work out. Life has a balance. I would say that excludes women, but seeing as you are one, you'd probably find some way of kicking me in the nuts from across town... :D

edit: How much is registration? A loan from a friend might be in order... you gotta have some nice (rich) friends...

You don't have to register, you just have to have the title transfered.

He's right. A running S13 (not to mention with a newer than chassis engine) for ~$900? Good stuff.

$60 isn't bad. Like I said, find the cash somewhere, even if out of a friend's pocket, then just don't drive it til you can afford to insure. It sucks, but it will be worth the wait!

I didn't even send mine in. Take it to where you would have it registered and they should do it for you. They charge you tax on the vehicle purchase I do believe.

I think you should just transfer the title and garage it til you have the money to insure/register it.

my parents are the #1 problem...and #2 is the money.

Minimum coverage for insurance...they will be pissed about that but I will tell them if they want full cov, they can pay for it cuz i can't afford it.

I OWN the car, so I can do minim. cov.

But can I do minum. cov. on the 240 without affecting their full coverage on the Altima, the Poostang, and the Minivan?

If you get it as a separate policy, yes. If you're adding it to their policy, that might get a wee bit difficult. However, I think you can have different amounts of coverage on different vehicles.

Yes, you can absolutely do that...

you can just have liability on yours without changing anything on your parents cars
