Not to mention, carrying physical damage (comp and collision) on a car that's over 10 years old (unless it's a rare vehicle, restored, classic, etc.) often doesn't work out financially. If it's the vehicle in your profile, you could easily end up paying more in premium in a year than you'd ever get back for the vehicle if it was totalled.

Just out curiousity, how old are you? You seem to be pretty surprised by completely standard costs involved with a vehicle purchase. The fact that you're getting a running 240 for ~$900 is a steal. Just because you lack the funds to see the deal through doesn't mean you're screwed, by anyone other than yourself.

I think it's queer when people add stuff the cost after they already started it. They give you a price they should stick to it. Just my thought.

Yeah it's not really fair that I gotta pay for a battery, BUT he is giving me (like I already said) a $400 clutch, $500+ suspension, n some others...he ain't chargin me for those. I just wish I had a better paying job as opposed to 2 sh***y ones...

And about the insurance, I def. don't see paying full cov., like you said, it's pointless on a car that's KBB'ed at about what, $1,100?

Most cars that have altered suspension sell for less. Also what clutch is 400 bucks? My spec stage 3 was 300 and that was more clutch than I needed. Not trying to be synical. I hope this all works out for you. It will be OK. :D

buying non running cars usually will end up in set backs and annoying stuff like that....

best of luck though, something goes wrong and there's always a few hardcore mother****ers willing to set them right.;)

That's a whole new set of problems... make sure that everything is in working/excellent running condition after the installation, have something in writing as far as a warranty. You don't want to donate some eggs or become a surrogate mom to pay for repairs and associated headaches. good luck.

heh, yea send i nthe title and sit on it, i got my 240, blew the cheap *** clutch that i think was installed wrong on it in 3 weeks, and now i have the max fine of 100$ for not registering it within the 20 days that i had the tags. i still have to do emmissions too, i think im just going to have mom transfer the title to my name and get another tag on it and get emmisions done asap as well as titleing it.

Buying a car is always fun. You see a low asking price and get sucked in, then you get excited so you dont negotiate the way you should, then you bring it home and empty out your wallet, bank accounts, couch, and ashtrays to afford the @#$%#@$% tax, title, registration, emissions, repairs, and first down payment on insurance.

Well I got the title transfer today, but obviously I can't get tags until I get insurance and emissions...so I'm going to need to find out about insurance, then get proof ASAP, and go back to the office...
