Things I wish the EX35 had...

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Car, but...

I wish it had...

*A Power Lift Hatch,

*The ability to turn on and view ANY Camera at ANY time,

*Tinted Windows... a little more darker than they are now,

*Lighted Door Sills (like the Murano)

*Key Fob that would Beep when you Whistle,

any others ?

Wow - that was an awfully short honeymoon!!!
EXceptional wrote:*A Power Lift Hatch,
- not for me (the aluminum hatch is very light)
EXceptional wrote:*The ability to turn on and view ANY Camera at ANY time,
Absolutely - couldn't agree more!!! (I'd be happy even if this was limited to lower speeds, as it is now.)
EXceptional wrote:*Tinted Windows... a little more darker than they are now,
Yes (I will definitely be getting more tinting)!
EXceptional wrote:*Lighted Door Sills (like the Murano)
Yes!
EXceptional wrote:*Key Fob that would Beep when you Whistle,
- but just you; not when someone else whistles - don't really need this myself
EXceptional wrote:any others ?
* less glare on the inside of that sloping windshield (maybe a special coating?)* wheel-mounted paddle shifters* headlamp washers (for those salty nights ... maybe not in Alberta!)* ability to copy MP3s to the Music Box hard drive (silly that it can't/won't)* rear cargo tray/organizer and/or cargo net included (if Subaru can, surely an up-level brand like Infiniti can?!)* extensions on the sunvisors (again, like Subaru and others)* option for performance summer tires (instead of "no-season" tires ... you know, those designed specifically to be a compromise for all seasons and therefore, guaranteed NOT to be optimum for any season!)* customizable voice tags, so you can record your own voice commands to perform specific functions (say, 8 or 16 of them would be nice)

I'll probably think of more later, but I should give others a chance (or get back to work!! )

I agree with the Glare off the Dash and Sun-Visor Extensions.

My Denali has 2 sets of Visors with extensions for each side, for that Sun that's in a stupid spot in the Sky.

I wish it has rain-sensing wiper. that speed sensing is not useful for me.

Round 2: ... - a DVD player that's DL capable (so we can put 8GB of MP3s, etc, on a single disc)- ability to associate track info with songs ripped off non-commercial CDs (an offline program similar to the one used to update Gracenote data would be fine.)

Abra-ca-dabra ... Presto - Ta Da!!!

Just go out to your car now, and push the wiper switch forward. Washer fluid should squirt on your rear window and the wiper should operate a couple of times.

You're welcome!!

I read the manual, but must have missed that or had a "senior moment"

Anyhow, I tried it, and of course it worked, so now the car is perfect

ThankscheersPat

The only complaint I have is the arm rest is to low and the window seal is to high for a comfortable left arm position for steering the vehicle . ( for my driving setting ) .

Oh and I have to find a friggin' rattle in the rear hatch panel , its driving me crazy !!!!!!!!!!!Started this 1 week after purchase . Other then that its all Good

Food for thought people.....

Factory cars do not come with very dark tinting. If you want them darker then get them darker!! I titned mine the day I bought it. I already had it set up!

Mine has visor extenders, not sure why the others don't.

As far as the music box... you have a 9 gig music box, a flash drive, XM radio and the ability to plug in an Ipod! Put your MP3's on the flash drive... my god!

And YES, it does have voice recognition for phone, navigation system etc....

I think some of you need to either take a better look at your vehicle or read the owners manual.

I am waiting for the custom wire mesh grille!!

Mine has visor extenders, not sure why the others don't. Lucky you. Explain what your's look like and how they operate, please.

As far as the music box... you have a 9 gig music box, a flash drive, XM radio and the ability to plug in an Ipod! Put your MP3's on the flash drive... my god! You're so smart !

And YES, it does have voice recognition for phone, navigation system etc.... Apparently the Canadian version works 1000 times better than the US version... so maybe that's why there's a complaint about the V.R. The V.R. isn't perfect, but maybe you think it is ?

I think some of you need to either take a better look at your vehicle or read the owners manual. I take it, that you know it all, right ?

I am waiting for the custom wire mesh grille!! YUK ! I guess you want to pimp out your ride, huh ?

Huh?! Who said it didn't have voice recognition?!?! My wish list was for "customizable voice tags" so that you could record/assign a voice command to some function, rather than just rely on what's pre-programmed by the firmware from the factory. (Talk about reading things carefully ...)

Hey, I got it ... they should make use of that glare by designing a "Head-Up Display"!!

I wish it were possible to import phonebook entries using the Compact Flash reader... I could export my contacts out of Address Book (on OS X) in standard .vcard format to the flash card, put it in the EX, and go.

I just mentioned this in another thread but believe that it is worth restating; I wish I could input destinations into the GPS router while the car was moving. I use this function all the time with my other gps, I am safe, and am capable of making those decisions myself.

This is particularly annoying when I have a guest in the passenger seat who is entirely capable of safely inputting new destinations but I have to exit the freeway, find a place to park, stop the car, and then input the directions.

Horrible decision Infiniti! Is there precedent for law suits in this regard? Why else would Infiniti insist on such a patronizing feature?!

you are safe, but there are plenty of other litigious people who are not and will sue Infiniti for their stupidity if they wreck while twiddling with the nav. I don't know any car manufacturers that allow you to do this. Even aftermarket units like Garmin warn you not to mess with the nav while driving.

The Canadian version of the navigation software allows you to enter new destinations by voice command while driving.

Well, I'm Canadian too... but I'd rather be paying American Gas prices right now.

I still need for someone at Infiniti to tell me why there is such a huge difference in how the Voice Recognition works between the 2 Countries.

Round 3:- side-mounted turn signal lights either on the front fenders (a la Audi, BMW & others), or on the external mirrors (a la GM, Volvo, Subaru, etc) ... this is a safety issue!!- ability to use mechanical key and/or key fob to open/close all windows and sunroof- ability to associate a trained/saved voice recognition user profile to a key fob or seat memory setting (1 or 2)- display of imputed tire pressures based on TPMS inputs- fold-flat front passenger seat (to carry long loads) [Added 8/30/2008]

Bosh, I don't think that setup fits the profile of most EX owners - not that there is anything wrong with your ears bleeding while driving down the road.

I wish it had the shark fin antenna, a small cosmetic change but it would look more sleeker.
