This is a post from G35driver.com. I was at the meet on Sat. in Sac, I am the lady he is referring to:

JasonPerformance ()01/11/04 02:42 PM

I had fun!

Nice meeting you guys!

For the lady in the black G with the INJEN intake...

Im sorry someone lied to you and told you the RT Cats loose torque.. It is actually CAI's that loose torque!

This dyno shows Baseline of only nismo exhaust and then adding only RT High Flow Cats

http://members.aol.com/performancenismo/dyno2.jpg

This was my reply:

I don't give a [censored] what any of it says. My car is fast and if you don't think so bring it on. And why didn't you bring this to my attention at the meet? You should have voiced you opinion to my face about the cats and Injen intake. How did you respond?

The lady in the black G

P.S. Be sure to look me up at the next meet, I'll be looking forward to it.

Hehe go get em!

Interesting difference in the lower rpm A/F ratios... with that 12.3:1 A/F on the big end you'd gain a good 3-4rwhp with a S-AFC tune.

I'd be willing to bet that the CAI loses torque moreso due to an A/F variance rather than the reduction of intake air velocity.

My friend is selling his G35. It has a technosquare ECU flash, but is otherwise stock. You see that little dip in torque around 4800? Well, it gets rid of that and the car gives you a humongous kick in the *** after that point.

I'm anti-CAI except in Hondas because the design of the CAI causes the air to flow over the temp sensors in the intake differently, therefore confusing the readings. That and the air in the bumper/fender is generally stationary. But if it works, it works.

Sure you can drive my G! But you better have good insurance. Did you go to the Sac Meet?

Yeah, AZ is my friend, but he's pushing it. AZ you have mail. I suppose you looked me up on the meet pics. The guy with his car next to me looks kind a short. It might have something to do with me being 6 ft.

I'm sporting a NICO sticker on my G that Fred sent me. It looks pretty good on my passenger rear side window. I've been putting cards on Nissans whenever I see one parked. Maybe someday I'll have a NICO group right here in Modesto. But they better hurry up I'm not getting any younger.

I'm only 19...

I've seen plenty of older age people do stupid things in cars, what does age really have to do with it?

If you want your G to have some serious top end kick, call technosquare.

I drove hatebobbarker's G. Great kick in the *** after 4-grand (ecu flash), but steering was a little dissapointing. Stiff and quick body movements (stiff chassis), great exhaust note. It was a little light for my taste, on the other hand, I only drive the car about five miles. Chunky shifter. Chunky transmission. Need more seat time.

What do you drive that makes the G so disappointing? Must be a Z06 - My next car!

Z06?

Hope you don't mind being upside-down in a poorly-constructed car... Don't plan on ever selling it if you do. Sad, sad, sad.

What makes a stock G35 dissapointing for me is the lack of any sort of top end and cheap interior materials. It uses a lot of Altima interior trim. You can argue it brought the price down so it wasn't inaffordable, but I'm sure $200 more in interior materials would have made it that much better. I've felt better buttons and seen better trim in my roommate's '03 Accord.

Mercedes seems to use some cheap pieces now and they cost a pretty penny. Complaining about interior materials like that is like me trying to complain about how the shifter in the C43 AMG sounds like it's filled with sand and makes nasty noises when you move it from gate to gate, but there's nothing really wrong with the car.

But that dosen't mean I don't hate it. I like:The very stiff chassisHigh roll stiffnessExhaust noteLow-end responseSharp turn-in

None of which my roommate's Accord has. My V6 Accord has low-end resposne, but it's porkier and dosen't turn in anywhere as well as the four-cylinder, nor does it feel as "light" and tossable.

Keep in mind, I mean a stock G35.

I just meant that the Z06 is an incredible drivetrain in a crappy car. Poor build quality overall. Cheap switchgear, misaligned body panels, plastic nose and tail sections that warp and dimple, and the sloppiest weatherstripping I've seen on a modern car.

Certainly not worth $50K. I'll take a G with a supercharger and some interior dress-up goodies....

I'd much rather have a nicely loaded G35C w/ 6 speed than a Z06.

Z06 is hands down a better performer though, you must admit :) And for a hardcore race enthusiast, like me, the Z06 is a much better match :)

I've raced both a G35C and a Z-06. Neither race was all that close. One I got smoked, the other I smoked the person. I'll let you guess which scenario goes with which car.

Sheer performance aside, I think the G35 would be a much better daily driver. Sports cars are cool, and dialed in suspensions are really fun. Having to commute in a sports car sucks though. Especially a Z-06. From what I've observed, the suspensions on those cars are exceptionally tight. I bet you could drive one onto any race track is stock form, and be fairly competitive against cars with similiar weights and displacement. You'd have to do a bunch of tuning to a G35 to get it track ready, and even then, I don't think it would be truly competitive.

In an ideal world, I'd want the G to pimp around most of the time and the Z06 for track days, club events, etc.

dripping with sophistication... :pimp

edit: I guess I gotta point out that the Z06 is pulsating with raw, animalistic power
