Well, considering that at sea level 1 bar is atmospheric pressure.
anything under one bar is lower then atmospheric pressure, which by definition is a vacuum.
A "boost gauge" is actually a pressure gauge, not a barometer. When it says 0, it's 0 above atmospheric pressure.
Whereas a barometer starts out at 14.7PSI, which is equal to one bar.
So depending on how you look at it, we're both right, BUT sinse he said the word "bar" that implies barometer
