This is NOT correct, at least partially incorrect. The 4G63 is the 2.0 turbo that came in the DSM's. The early ones are stronger than the later ones. From '95-'97 the Mitsu engines had a big problem with crank walk. I could spout a lot of info regarding this engine, but this is not a DSM board. There were also different n/a engines, but no one really cares about those.
The EVO is also powered by the 4G63 with a big 16g turbo. I posted a large amount of information regarding the EVO not too long ago. You may search for it if you are interested.
As for the USCC, why is it a bs competition? The Viper is a killer machine, no one can question that. So is the Skyline. The one in this test was an R33, NOT an R34. It was rather modestly modded compared to the Viper which was completely rebuilt. But why would it not belong in this competition?
The car that didn't belong was that dumb arse VR4 Spyder. That guy claimed to have over 600hp, but had half of that, was slow as all hell, and drove like a fairy. Why has no one mentioned that? The Viper stomped arse, that's why it won, but not by much. I too would rather have a GT-R than a Viper, but that doesn't mean the Viper didn't belong. Come on.
Another big misconception about the USCC is that it has to be sport compacts. It doesn't. It's all about the ultimate street car, hence the name.
