let me chime in on this, as i am an avid reader of SCC for about 2 years now...

So the Viper won, i have no qualms about it, by far he won by the road course, the guy knew what he was doing, and so did the car---he didn't need a stand-in driver and kicked *** on that road course(unlike that sissy Chen guy, hurried execution indeed!). The Viper was voted in by the readers, fair enough. And Vipers, IMO, are very compact!

I agree with Repo Man about the VR-4, what a b**ch what retarded group of readers voted in that freight train on wheels anyway? That guy was c*cky and embarassed himself, a fitting punishment. It's a shame it wasn't a hardtop VR-4, as they shouldn't accept a car to the challenge if it can't compete in the road course (which i think is a very important part of the whole USCC)

BTW, since when was SCC all about imports? Clearly, the sport compact car market is dominated by imports, thanks to Honda, but don't forget SCC voted that hideous looking sr4-t Neon as Sport Compact Car of the Year (oh the humanity!)

suprisingly the supra that placed second this year actually did worse in most of the contests this year.

That skyline kicked ***. a few more mods and a slight increase in the handling dept and he would have won easily.

I was impressed how close the skyline was to the viper on the road course despite running on a pretty much stock sustension.

Next year we need to see a skyline win:ylsuper

Actually the First gen 90-94 eclipses talons etc, the nonturbos have 4g63 motors that aren't boosted with different pistons. There are a lot of N/T trims on 1g eclipses some that only have 105hp I believe. The first gen turbo's had 190hp but had a better built 4g63 motor. The second gen turbos had 210hp and also came in AWD or FWD format. And although very rare a rear LSD. The 2g 4g63's are susceptible to crankwalk though, if building a fast monster vehicle people usually go with a first gen with 6 bolt front 4 bolt rear. The Eclipse in the USCC won first place in the 1/4 with a very low 11 AWD definitely helps off the line the eclipse dynoed at 528hp I believe. The 4g63 motors are 2.0l and the second generation non turbo eclipses had a 420a motor at 140hp not 155hp. For under $1000 you can have a 1g AWD turbo eclipse hitting 12's reliably. You can usually score one for under 3 grand. Hope that clears up any misinformation :)
