Dude everyone is jumping on this ricer bandwagon. GOD FORBID a Nissan have a wing or some damn clear tails. What is the world coming to, Have you ever actually analyzed the drift video you downloaded off kazaa and are now drooling over. EVERYTHING people consider rice is done on those cars. Big *** wings.....obnoxious amount of stickers.....flames coming out of the tailpipe.....etc. This isnt new. I have seen those same "ricer" lights on a blue S15 and it looked pretty pimp.

Its useless to hate, because we all feel "rice" is something we dont like. Hell people think I'm a ricer because I got a 240sx and into drifting because of initial d/ everyone is doing it.

I like a 240 bekuz my friend in Japan had an s13.

spec v 5150 - you are right. alot of people in dont know that the JDM cars that people give props too were the same cars that effected what is called rice.

big wings, graphics, mis matched rims, huge body kits,.. etc.

oh well, you dont like aluminum wings, dont put it on. simple.

dood those tails look HARD!!! And yeah in Japan i guess euro and altezza lights are the "thing" i mean they named a damn car after them fer cryin out loud ( Toyota Altezza.. U.S. Lexus IS 300 ) ... but yea i tend not to bash people too much for "ricing their cars out unless they go all out like some idiot that lives near me that went ahead and made themselfes a cardboard bodykit..yea u heard me right... cardboard.. it has a wing made out of 2x4s too... ill get a pic if i happen to find that person again... im surprised he doesn't have a folgers can for an exhaust tip, but hey...he might have spent all his cash on the bodykit...

To me there is a difference between having a pimp *** looking car and having a all show no go car and think you can rape cobra's. My Altima was all show no go...BUT I street light raced it but only if I was revved at first or if someoen blew by me and gave me "that look". I didnt go around thinking my Altima was the fastest thing.

IMO, that blue S15 doesn't look that bad at all. again, i'm mostly impartial about the whole rice thing, but there are some concepts i have a hard time grasping. one would be the single wiper phenomenon. another would be the huge exhaust tip on the stock muffler/piping. then there's the bumpers that don't line up properly, painted a completely different color from the body, or flap around cause they're not bolted on properly. and finally, the monster tach on an otherwise stock vehicle (especially when said vehicle comes w/a tach or if it's an automatic).

that said, i don't mind variety. different tail lights here, body kits there, custom two-tone leather shift boots, whatever. there are just some things that i don't (and may never) understand. either way, do what u do...:ylsuper

There is a big big difference between a show car, a real honest to god owned by a rich guy/company and the kind of 'rice' that gets bashed around here.

I dont see too many people bashing Jspec's JDM Rice (Rip) for having a big wing or stickers.

Yeah seriously, but then again who could argue about JDM Rice's spoiler and decals when it's got those awesome headlights. Gotta love em. I want those headlights on my car too *sigh* then again I guess I could always save up a bit more for the controllers if it weren't for my sr (thought I was talkin about the 4 headlights pictured above didn't ya? ha ha ha)

Altezza's or Euro's are rice when they are in bad taste (for example, cheap looking APC altezza's and euro's). glass encased, factory quality, fully functional, street legal $1000 tail lights are in the same catagory as high price body kits in my book, neither make the car perform better in any catagory BUT can make a car look better. I think body kits and aftermarket tail lights end up being soooooo tacky because people dont spend the time and money to make it work with the car or decide to go with the tackiest colors on the planet. I dont care what you did to your motor or how well the wide body kit was put on, painting your car kawasaki neon green is NOT a good idea.

well, we all spend money on different things. some things have good quality, some have bad quality. instance, body kits, some are good with good fitment, some are bad, thin and bad fitment, causing it to flap on the highway.

I think its hypocritical for people to bash a car (with in good taste) and look at a JDM car and give it props. considering "rice" goes with exhaust, big wings, stickers, etc.hell, people call people with messed up body kits or unpainted kits rice, but in the drift magazines they have that all the time.

yeah, a showcar owned by a rich man/spoiled kid or shop is cool, but thats why I think when someone that builds their car from the ground up, piece by piece is way better. Obviously if your rich, you can get stuff right away. but some people have other things, take time to build. I remember reading how people built their cars in a couple of years, compared to a few months now. but thats just the market, hook up, money, time, sponsorship deals.
