The pic i posted was from a good camera, but nobody knew he was actually doing it until he was doing it, haha. Justin literally hopped out of the truck and ran up to the track as Ian was on approach, I don't even think he had time to adjust his shutter speed from the group pics earlier, haha.

Exactly... its easy to check the exif's on those pics. I know if I wanted to really freeze it I would've blasted off at 6fps at 1/1000++ but I didn't know what he was doing until he was about 1/2 way up on his approach... That was 1/60 at IS100 and manually focused. It was on the fly and I honestly was going to shoot a couple more with a higher shutter speed but he only made two passes (and only came across the tracks at speed 3 times) and I only got two of those because I didn't realize what was going on until after the 1st jump happened. Since I shoot everything in manual mode I missed making adjustments... it happens. Sue me. :ohno:

I'm guessing based on the quality of the above pics they were probably taken with a cell phone. Or, at best, an entry-level point and shoot. I'm not even sure if most phones will allow you to adjust shutter speed or ISO, but I can say for certain that the glass on either a cell phone or PnS will not be fast enough to capture motion at this speed from such a close distance. Not everyone can afford to be dropping $1k+ on a nice DSLR with some decent lenses.

Ummmm 5d with 28/2.8 lens... your cell phone won't get that kind of DOF.

Hey there, chief. Wasn't taking shots at anyone's gear. No need to get your feathers ruffled. TBQH, I didn't look at the images all that closely. Maybe it is the scaling, maybe the overexposure. My only point was that it's a car forum and I'm not sure why everyone is always critiquing photos.

Hey my feathers aren't ruffled.. you are the one who made the inital comment that "judging by the quality of the photos they probably came from someones cell phone".... so I was just making a comment in return since you seemed curious to know what kind of camera. :bigthumb:

I didn't! Some of the local emo-drift fanbois take offense to questions like that.... like i'm supposed to believe they were born confused and can't make up their minds.
