your making alot of sense....

i tried messing with the wiring earlier today, including channels 3 and 4 and making sure polarities are right. i noticed it said bridged...i was confused.

channel 3 + - channel 4 + - and above 3/4 it says bridged

so do i just connect SUB1 + to ch3 +, SUB1 - to ch4 - ? and vice versa for sub2

i tried that it didnt work

looks like i gots more homework to do!!

i forgot to mention i tried doing everything with one sub with no luck. but i think im going to try to do this in series...

+terminal -> +sub 1 then sub1 - -> +sub2 then sub2 - -> -terminal

wouldnt that increase impedance?

here is how my subs came wired and how i figured would work.....

connected to the "subwoofer" 1500 w terminal.looks right to me, so what the heck! both my speakers are clarion 1051...pretty sure their 4 ohm each and are SVC (only saw two terminals on the speaker itself, not 4 which would make it DVC)

it looks like im pushing a 2 ohm load..meaning yes, probably not enough power to the subs....so ima figure out the best way to get a 4 ohm load from the subwoofer channel (1+ 1- terminal)

Try wiring your subs to channel 5 also, I *think* the first four channels will be stereo and the fifth is intended for subs....

i tried everything.....including series/parallel to all channels and no luck.

the original owner emailed me to see how i like the subs/amp (i bought them all togehter from him) and said he had them working with the 1500w subwoofer channel conected in parallel to the subs. so. the amp/subs are not my problem. nor is power (measured 12.7V on the amp), nor is remote turn on (green light turns on and off with the deck), nor is subwoofer out on the deck or the connection between the two.

what the hell.

double check my ground maybe? i mean...i sanded down the freakin area...its bolted right on there nice and strong....

You sure dude is telling the truth? I'd take it to a shop and have it tested, I'm sure they'll do of for around $20.

Good luck dude.

the guy was really honest, i doubt hed sell me a dead amp i mean i went to his house to get it, and he even emailed me after to see if i liked it....Maybe ill try it on my friends subs....ill isolate what the problem is and see whats wrong, maybe it IS the head unit which says its giving sub output but isnt

Sounds like it is time for some additional testing. When you power up do the lights, etc on the amp come on? Do you have some other speaker hanging around you can use to test the output of the amp (hook up in place of the subs)? You bought another amp right? Try to hook the other amp up for testing and see what it does. Are you using some sort of low pass filter/crossover? If you are what are the settings on it?

Glad it worked out dude, if you're going through the rear out you probably want to make sure you've got the low pass a-over on, no reason to send the entire spectrum to your subs they'll just get muddy.

yeah i got the LPF cranked all the way, it sounds great but im sure there is room for improvement. I was sitting in traffic just loving it. Its the perfect amount of bass, i get a good shake but my rearview mirror stays relatively in its place! YES! lol tommorow im going to make the wires a little neater and clean up all the speaker wire strands all over the place, and all the tools ive got everywhere, oh and install the dash kit (around the cd player)

Glad you got it working! There is no better feeling than working your way through a tough problem and coming out the other end with exactly what you want!

Cheers to you!
