So... The Car Gods Hate me....., But at least God still likes me.
Sunday before New Years, I was trying to get the car running before 08.
Got the harness from Carl. CheckSemi sorted out the Turbo lines. Check (without water)(If anyone has an extra RB Banjo Bolt for the Water, Please let me know)Plugged in the MAF, Charged then hooked up the battery, then tried to start the car. I was sooo crapped out for a sec, because the car cranked but didn't start. Then, I remembered that I was a Dumbass, I forgot to plug in the ECU. Duhh....Did that, tried again. Crap forgot to plug in the Relay's, Double Duhhh....(My Ex was a Blonde..... Rubbed off)Then I try yet again, Vrooommm.... Sputter sputter Sputter......
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!The car fired up for a sec, the died out, wouldn't start no matter how many times I cranked. I looked at my Fuel pressure gauge and it said 0 I thought it was kinda odd, but I brushed it off. Valve timing is perfect, Ignition timing should be decent. I haven't put a timing light on her yet. But the car ran before w/o the maf and it purred like a Snarling Tiger Kitten. lol The car used to have about 40 psi but over time it would drop slowly, but since the car was outside I never smelled any fuel.
So I smelled fuel and I knew it had ignition so I was feeling really crappy. The garage reeked of gas, so I left the garage door partially open. And hooked up a fan to air it out. I thought I just seriously flooded the motor. The next day the garage still reeked of gas, and since the door was partially open the landscapers had blown a whole bunch of dried up leaves in my garage. So I go to sweep them out and I looked behind the car has a huge pool of dried up gas and dried up leaves. Like I mean a whole bag worth. So I'm lucky my house didn't catch a fire.
(Forgot to mention 2 years ago when I got this shell I changed the gas tank from my other S13)
So today I pulled the hatch for the fuel pump looked at the lines, everthing looked ok. I was like crap gotta pull down the whole tank. Yes, I'm very lazy.So I start pulling down the shrouds and i see the lines. In the middle of one looks wet. So i'm trying to see where or what is dripping on that line to drip down. (not thinking that, that line is the source) Can't see anything. So then I grab the line and for a sec see a crack, then I squeeze it.The line was dry rotted as was the other fuel line.Pic:
So I think I can change this line without having to drop the tank.So after I do that I just gotta extend my Throttle Switch and TPS connectors.Because I have a aftermarket ITM, forgot to tell Carl when he had my harness.
Here's a pic of my car ready to start
The pics may be huge or really tiny, I suck with photobucket.
So soon the President may step down. (hopefully...... )
