This is literally a 30 second quiz, only 8 questions. Post up your answers so we know where we all stand.

Link:

My results:

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 100%. Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 80%.

ACCORDING TO YOUR ANSWERS:

The political group that agrees with you most is...

LIBERTARIAN

LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; onethat is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence.Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, opposegovernment bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, toleratediverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

I could have gone a different way a couple times...so I took it twice and got...

It really depends on the background behind each decision...really not a very good test to determine what party you should subscribe to. Which is why I'm an Independant. Each choice should be made after reasearch and making an informed opinion on what matters most to you at that time.

This is agreeing to privatizing SS for retirement uses only.

This is in terms of maybeing to privatize SS for retirement uses only since SS is bigger than retirement.

LOL, agreed with everything.

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 100%.Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 100%.

Too bad the present Libertarian Party is just a joke. I think we should split the Republican Party. Let the social conservatives do whatever they want - the rest of us will go form a serious Libertarian Party.

Methinks the questions were framed to get Libertarian answers.

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 60%. Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 50%.

I think that's about right for me. All parties have some good ideas to bring to the table but no one party has all the right answers. If you guys disagree, don't worry I won't really have a say for another three years.

It's funny though, because a quiz in another thread positioned you as an authoritarian. Shows how differently the quizzes can display results based on similar inputs.

I do agree that the Libertarian party, as it stands, is not currently electable, mainly due to the fact that it is rife with wacky anarchist extremists. If "we" can filter those out, I do see a major re-alignment of the Republican party if they can kick out the religious right. Especially if the GOP loses both houses majorly and the White House, wherein they will be forced to change their approach.

There are a lot of neat articles out there about the mainstreaming of the Libertarian party, but nearly all parties agree that the basic view-set is becoming more and more widespread.

EDIT: I DO believe that the quiz was devised by Libertarian-leaning individuals, which explains why the "what is a Libertarian" section is so much more robust than "what is a XXX anything else".

I don't think that it's skewed per se though, I just think that a lot of people tend to fall in this camp that might not think of themselves as such, and the quiz might be engineered to point this out. Most people tend to view the political spectrum as purely two dimensional (horizontal, in this case), if simply for lack of any alternative.

Funny that your dot would be so far right that you'd be a foulball in just about any ball park. Either that, or a home run, not sure... Good job!

Well, technically it isn't, or at least it seems not to be. Given that his "personal" score is 100%, that frames him as probably more of a Libertarian than a social conservative. I bet he's in that top triangle (er, pentagon) somewhere.

Let's see your results Bob.

Yeah, when I did the math, it looked like more like a home run than a foul ball. Definitely in Obama territory though.

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 70%. Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 60%.

Interesting to note:

"(Scores falling on the Centrist border are counted as Centrist.) "

And then:

"Centrist 33.6% "

I'd have preferred they split it so we can get a better cross-section of who is where...of course, I don't believe this test to be wholly accurate.

Bob flew out to left and Hash hit a home run into deep center. He should have been in the HR Derby.

If that's the kind of English they teach in Ivy League schools, then I guess so.

Methinks Neocon would be more like the intersection between statist and conservative though. I don't see how Neocon would intersect directly with Libertarian at any point.

I'd say your "Bible Thumper" area is probably right on though, although I'm not sure if they'd belong anywhere north of the equator on personal liberties.

Monkeying with the political spectrum is fun. Someone should blow this thing up and put all sorts of little niches into it, it'd be hysterical!

EDIT: EVEN BETTER. Do one for each of the candidates, put their face on it, and use arrows to show where they (i.e. their face) has moved across the spectrum over time.

Obama would start on the left and move center. McCain would start right at the center of the border between centrist and Libertarian and then first move way right and south, and then move back to dead center. LOL!

If I had time I'd do that for both of them.

I put neocon where it is because around here if you are Republican you are a neocon and/or a bible thumper. Thus, I just made the right side to reflect that opinion.
