Here's my list over the last 40 years or so. Not so long a list as some, but since cars started to significantly improve in quality and reliability in the 80's and 90's, I have held onto them longer - on average 5 or 6 years. Would usually hand them over to the wife after 3 or 4 years and buy a new one for myself (to maximize business write-off). Longest owned was the 1996 Accord which we kept for 9 years. Have purchased all the cars, but two - only leased the 1980 Accord and 1983 Prelude. I do a lot of research before buying, so liked all the cars to varying degrees; even if they weren't always the car I would have picked, if money wasn't part of the equation. Never regretted getting any of them; so guess I have been lucky, too

1967 Ford Custom 500 V8 sedan (bought from my dad in 1969 for university)
1973 German Ford Capri V6 coupe (first new car and still a favourite)
1977 Honda Accord coupe (new - first generation, waited 4 months to get it)
1980 Honda Accord coupe (new)

Will have to buy wife a new car to replace the Volvo in the next few months, because I am holding onto the M for at least another couple years for myself (can't give it up).

I've owned a lot of cars in the last 36 years,most of them GM's.I've had a Cadillac the past 25 years ,the last one was a 99 Deville Concourse I drove that for the past 9 years,it still looks and runs great(I gave it to my son,he'll have fun with it) I decided to go in a different direction and bought a 2007 M35X,I really like this car but it will take a little getting used to.When I decided to get a car I figured it would be a Caddy CTS but after test driving a few I was not impressed,I took the M for a test drive and it was all over for the Caddys,I like this car more every time I drive it(I've had it for 3 days now) I have a good feeling about this car.
