AHH!! Why do people think just becuase you are opposed to the Iraq war that you don't support the troops?!? And seriously I hope nobody thinks that Bush is goin to win the war on terror, you can't wage war against a thought.

at least Bush stands for something, whether you agree with his position or not. Getting Kerry to stand on a position is harder than getting me to divulge what`s under the hood! I want Bush as president and it looks to be going that way. Whoever wins just remember we are lucky to live in a country (well at least to be the citizen of in my case) where the common person can have a say.

Drift machine makes a good point, you can never win a war on an idea. All the civilized countries of the world can do is combat the conditions that cultivate terrorists. That means shining light in every corner and not being holier-than-thou about it.

Ummm it's not official until Kerry concedes and he hasn't. There are still unknown votes. The media is always quick to declare stuff before it's actually official. *cough lastelection cough*

Not only are we taking the White house again, but we have congress as well. Ha!

Anyway, John Edwards will be your next president. I live in the man's district here in NC. Didn't vote for him, but hey.

I like Edwards, didn't use to, but I do now. Hey, if the democrates wanted to win, they should have got someone other than John Kerry. He is not presidental material. Someone like John McCain, would have gotten a good bit of the Republican vote, as well as the Democrates.

But hey, McCcain is a true conservitive democrate. He could have bridged the gap between the two sides. And he is a real deal war hero, not some medal winner that came back and protested the war and the soldiers he served with. When most Vietnam Vets won't vote for Kerry, then you know he is a dill weed.

The wrong canadate, at the wrong time, in the wrong election.

I have a serious question: Of all of you who voted for Bush, what issues do you agree with? I find it hard to believe that you are all against stem cell research, abortion, big business regulation, evironmental regulation, g@y marriage, etc etc. So did you vote for him because he's more trustworthy or because you're ignorant?

It's a legitimate question and wasn't meant to belittle Bush supporters. I just find it shocking that a majority of young people on here voted for him. If you don't feel threatened by it, then by all means please answer. I am just trying to find reasoning for those who voted for Bush.

of course i can only speak for mysef, but my beliefs fall in line with bush's. bush has the same morals as i, and that's the biggest thing i look for in a candidate. everything else is just icing on the cake. regardless of the mistakes he's made, i believe that in the end he will have done more good than harm.

imo, kerry is a bigger devil than bush will ever be. what does kerry stand for? imo, he took certain stances on certain issues only because he thought it would get him votes. what is he really capable of accomplishing? imo, nothing. what has he accomplished? i'm with nathan. i have a bad gut feeling about kerry that i just can't shake. imo, he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. when the underlying unspoken basis for an entire campaign is "anyone but bush", do people really know what they're voting for when they root for kerry? i just believe that kerry said and did anything and everything to get into office. with morals and beliefs that are against mine, there's no way i could vote for him.

"anyone but bush"?

be careful what you ask for.

Well, he IS trustworthy.... so thankfully I guess I'm not ignorant! Your question souds exactly as Jesda put it... "Morning-after bitterness".

Bush won both the popular vote AND (as soon as Ohio gets it together) the electoral vote. I won't bore you with the logic behind my vote for Bush, but it's pretty clear that the MAJORITY of the country felt he was the better man for the job. End of story.

Although the results are unofficial, I'm kind of both disappointed and relieved if Bush does get 4 more years. If Kerry where to get in, the Canadian government would be compelled to help the U.S. out both financially and with military/peace keeping-policing support in Iraq. Since it looks like Bush (still unoffcial) will get in, we won't be getting ourselves involved in that mess. What's funny is that the same sentiment is echoed by my work colleagues in Germany and France.

Also if Bush gets in, it gives the Canadian government the right to slam the door on American who are coming up here to get there prescriptions filled. Something that is turning into a big issue up here.

Uh, ignorance is lack of knowledge. So you mean to tell me if I asked you questions about Bush's stance on any issue out there, you can answer them?

And I don't see how someone who can lie and not admit fault can be considered moral and trustworthy. Maybe I was just raised differently.

And again my first question remains unanswered.

I'm not taking the bait.

This question was addressed in dozens of political threads that have come and gone here on NICO. It seems a little redundant; hit the search button and you will find your answer.

Its the day after the election. What's done is done. Lets enjoy breakfast.

Yes, and if Kerry got it, we might actually have a chance of fixing the problem down here, rather than leaving so many people unable to afford the medication they need. All your post said is that you like Bush because then you have sufficient reason to ignore us rather than try to help us fix the problems Bush got us into... that's sad

Seriously vicki, your candidate lost, you need to accept that (and so does Kerry for that matter).

To bash Bush after the fact and ask us how we can possibly have voted for Bush is just a case of sour grapes. Turns out the majority of America voted for Bush, as he is leading the popular vote by more than 3 million votes.

Something interesting though, since we were talking about News agencies earlier. Notice that Fox News reported that Bush won Ohio late last night, obviously WAY before anyone else did since everyone else still says undecided. Then, when Nevada came in and was reported everywhere else as going to Bush, Fox didn't report it (and still hasn't) because that would mean Bush won for sure, which they couldn't actually be sure of yet. Then, they decided to report that Bush won anyway, still way before anyone else has made the call. How can they justify this? They did it two elections in a row. That's pretty irresponsible reporting as far as I'm concerned, reporting as fact what you don't actually know. The only difference is this year, all the other news stations didn't fall in line and report whatever Fox was reporting... at least someone learned from the last election.

NBC reported the exact same states and numbers that Fox did, both within a few minutes of each other.

Kerry is speaking at 1PM EST. Bush is speaking at 3PM EST.

I am happy to say that President Bush has been re-elected!

I tackled this earler Vicki but I'll touch your points.

1. I'm for stem cell research but against federal funding for it. 2. I'm against abortion but concede most Americans support it, however I don't want partial birth abortions, I want no federal funding for it, and I want parent notification.3. I'm mized on big business regulation as we are in a capitalistic society not a communist society. There's good and bad on this issue.4. The environmentalists were big against clearing out brush and trees and other things here in California and look what happened. BIG fires, BIG destruction last year. Best to pick and choose your battles on the environmental issue.5. Gay Marriage I'm against. However I'm in support of civil unions. For Political, Social, and Moral issues.6. A matter of trust, YES I TRUST BUSH. There is NOTHING to trust from Kerry because he flip flops on all of his issues. Tell me where Bush lied Vicki, and make sure you understand the full meaning of the word. Look it up in the dictionary if you're uncertain.

If you're going to bring up Iraq, then it is you who is ignorant because he didn't lie about it. You can be mistaken, and not be a lier. He really believed he was doing the right thing in Iraq, and that Saddam had WMD's. I for one still believe Saddam had them and they got moved over to other countries right before we invaded(as do most of the military people i know)

End point. Welcome to 4 more years of bush!
