KONIG Troubles 19x8 +30 Offset, Graphite wrapped in Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum 245/40R19 with Eibach Pro-Kit Springs.

UPDATE: Little bit of rubbing occuring over large bumps. See thread below for details...

Sorry about the dirty car. Next up is the Stillen Front Fascia and Sideskirts as well as painting the brake calipers. Any ideas on color for the calipers? I've had friends recommend yellow/gold, red, black, blue, and charcoal. Which, is basically any and every color out there... hah. Any recommendations here?

Yep, same model, but mine are a more aggressive offset. Imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery!

Thanks for all the comments folks. Would like some honest opinions on brake caliper color. Marisha, can you post pics or a link to your calipers? I'd love to see the blue.

My wing is commonly referred to here as the 'ebay wing'. It was the first spoiler out for the coupe. I had it painted and installed as part of a dealer incentive when I first bought my baby a year ago and personally I still like this more than any of the other spoilers... but it's all personal preference.

What does the offset do to the look of the wheel?

and how does it make it more aggressive? Sticks out more, wider wheel base?

Got the wheels from Stillen (Konig was closing out a bunch of models so they got a great deal). I don't believe they are available anymore, but you should send an email to Kyle@Stillen just incase if interested. The tires are Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum 245/40R19 All Seasons (since I live in PA and am too lazy to change my tires twice a year). The tires cost me $200 a tire + shipping. I also bought hubcentric rings for my wheels which cost me $22 + shipping. The wheels from Stillen were discounted to $130 a pop + shipping. All together cost me around $1700 with mount/balance/align/etc. I sold my old 17" Enkeis wheels and Firestone tires for $600 to a 2.5er from NY yesterday. So, $1100 for the new setup.

They call it more aggressive due to the further the wheel sticks out from the wheel well. +30 offset sticks out further than a +40. (It's the opposite of what would seem right, at least to me anyway). Not sure exactly what Blake (adidas2go) is rolling on but I know my wheels have a larger circumference than his as well as the wheels being a different offset. I may have a wider wheel base too, not sure.

The girlfriend.

On another note folks, if you are looking to do something along the same size, be forewarned. Since I've had these on I have had *some* rubbing. PA has nasty roads with lots of potholes and bumps. It seems whenever I take large bumps at slower speeds my tire rubs slightly on the top of the wheel well. Turning is fine-- full, hard turns have no rubbing at all, it's only the top of the wheel well going over bumps and what not.

Now let me also state that I am under the impression that the original shop that installed my eibach prokit springs mixed up the driver side springs so that my larger spring is in the front and lower spring in the back. I believe this because of firstly, measuring, and secondly, because I only hear the tire rubbing the wheel well top on my rear driver side. I go today at 2pm to have them check the springs. If they are correct, I feel inclined to either re-install the oem springs for more gap, or roll the fenders a tad bit. I am leaning towards re-installing the oem springs for the extra space, keeping my wheels and tires for now, once my tires need to be replaced I'll buy a smaller size so I can throw my eibachs back on.

I kinda shot myself in the foot with this more aggressive offset. If I can throw any advice out there to folks, it would be to go for a +45 offset with 235/40/19 if you are going 19s. That seems like a tad more perfect fit than mine. Adidas2go has 19x8 +45 offset with 235/35/19. That seems the perfect fit, but I'd also recommend going 40 width instead of 35 width-- my wheels never leave the road on turns and I have amazing traction on straight aways.

I used the G2 caliper paint. Haven't taken any shots from far away yet. Can do that in a few over lunch and send those your way.

Yeah PA's roads are sh*t.

Umm i dont think it would be possible for the springs to be installed backwards.

the rear springs are much smaller and would never fit on the struts. For the same reason the front springs wouldnt fit in the rear.

Hmmm, good point. I never noticed this as I really didn't check out their sizes with the exception of length.

Think I may end up going back to OEM springs unless anyone with some knowledge can think of anything else to attempt to solve the issue.

Wow, looks really sharp! Nice work. Imma have to have a buddy of mine photoshop my darkslate with the new wheels in blue and red, I honestly can't decide now...

As for an update on my rubbing issue-- I just took the car to the shop that put on my springs. Our suspension is not adjustable, nor can you even fit the front springs in the back or the back springs in the front. So, the Eibachs were installed correctly. I am having the shop throw on the OEM springs in the back and I am going to keep the Eibachs in the front. Gonna pick up the car tomorrow, if I rub in the front I will switch those out for the OEM springs too.

Here is more of a visual of my plans:

WITH FRONT AND REAR EIBACH SPRINGS INSTALLEDFRONT 1.5" lower than OEM

REAR1" lower than OEM

WITH FRONT EIBACH AND REAR OEM SPRINGS INSTALLEDFRONT 1.5" lower than OEM REAROEM HEIGHT

Now I'm thinking that with raising the back an inch by putting the OEM springs back on that the front Eibachs will be under a little bit more stress-- is this true? Will the front sag a tad bit more since more weight will be shifted towards the front? I'm also thinking this setup will be good for performance with more weight being on the front wheels, but I am concerned with how much lower this setup will push my front wheels (and if they will now possibly rub). We'll see tomorrow. Will keep this thread updated. And again, the rubbing is minimal and only on large bumps but I am somewhat of a perfectionist, so I got to get this right eventually

So I got my car back from my shop yesterday afternoon. Been driving it since.

I had the shop swap out the rear Eibachs for the OEMS, so I am now running the 1.4" Eibach spring drop in the front with the OEM height (1" higher than Eibach drop) in the rear.

I can't tell you how freaking bad *** my car looks right now. The aggressive offset of +30, mixed with the 1.4" drop in the front and the raised rear looks absolutely amazing. People are walking over to me when I park and inspecting the car, asking for details of mods, and just staring from the side of the road or their cars.

I just received my Stillen Fascia and Sideskirts and need to make an appt for paint and install. I will post a new thread with pics and whatnot then but I HIGHLY recommend that if you are looking for an even more aggressive look to your Coupe and have the Eibach springs swap the rears with the OEM springs. More weight in the front = better performance + better handling. My tires have yet to leave the road. Not even a squeak when taking hard turns. Absolutely a dream come true.
